Vista SP1 goes RTM

Woooo!

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local...rosoft_sp1.html

Hopefully it won't take too long for a sneaky OEM to get it up on the intertrons! Otherwise we're waiting until march, or april if you are unlucky enough to have "THE driver problem".

[ninja edit] It is already up on torrents [/ninja edit]

So you're advocating piracy after giving shit to others in other threads and telling them to get legal copies of stuff?

Are you dumb? Service Packs are free to download or we'd all be broke.

i paid for vista

i fail to see how a service pack is piracy. it's free, i'd just be getting it a few weeks in advance heh.

do you mean to the public or oems? every article on the net seems to say oems got it. they have the volume id and everything. this is the same as what will be released on windows update late feb/mid march.

Bah, yea I thought it wasn't out yet. Nevermind

the leaked build is from the 18th january which has no RC string anymore but according to some ms sources the final was compiled on the 26th

Bickering and legality aside... anyone try it?

[I dont run vista yet... I was kinda hoping the SP would make it a bit more appealing. ]

well, i had a better look and it turns out the service pack isn't actually out yet, only a (warez) copy of a full vista sp1 image.

i've been running the release candidate, without any problems though. it doesn't really change much, just lots of bug fixes etc. i never had any bugs to fix hah...

vista might seem a bit sluggish to some people at first, but this is because of vistas caching technology. once you run it for a week, it feels as fast as xp. i haven't had any driver or compatibility problems either.
