I'll field this question.

No.

Rather, what do you consider "heaps"? And how big of an earthquake would actually be noticeable? The last one was maybe a month ago or so, very small...I thought it was just my girlfriend falling out of bed

Can't even remember the last one before that. I think the majority that happen are so small that people can't notice them. Nothing major has happened in a while.

no. Only the storms can get pretty wicked from time to time (san diego)

Ok, well, I discussed this with you already : But, to the rest of you Californians, are they so un-noticable because you're just used to them? I've never been in one, but i figure that the tiniest shake would get my attention in a big way.

Yes? Or no?

I havent noticed any. There was one in Okinawa. It was real quick but it felt like a truck hit the building. Twas pretty cool.

There's faults all up and down the coast. When I lived in Seattle we had a bunch of little ones. LA's supposed to get HUGE ones every 10 years or something (which means we're due for a big one now). I've lived here almost 3 years and we only had a small one last year where everyone got on their cell phones and was like "OMG wAs thAt aN earffffQUACK? omg I totaLLY thaught It waRe my Neighbors haivng sexs too!"

Supposedly a ginormouhugebigfucking Earthquake will one day leave California underwater. Seattle's expecting some big 9.0 Earthquake or something too every 500 years (due for it now). I dunno but I think they'll both hit at inconvenient times, like when Apple announces the new halogram TV or something.

I remember we had one in the Toronto area when I was a kid...just a wee one. At the time, we all thought it was blasting in a nearby construction site, we found out it was an earthquake on the news later.

Ah, memories....

I've had a few since being in Japan. Kinda weird feeling, but they've been small. Kinda reckon there's gonna be a huge one soon though as there hasn't be one for a good few years. There's a 30 second warning time on them apparently.

I love earthquakes as long as nothing serious happens. They make me feel like an ant.

I'm freaking out, man!

Posted by L.E.N. on Feb-05-2008 16:22:

Most go un-noticed for me. The ones I do feel arent really anything to panic about and I just shrug off. Ive only been through one that freaked me out back in '89. In the bay area. That was a bit freaky and I was in 5th grade.

I find it funny that the people I talk to at work, from the east coast would rather shovel their cars out of snow year after year than deal with a random earthquake once a year.

Its not that bad.
