Top 20 most dangerous drugs.

As defined by a cluster of specialist scientists/medical researchers. This was shown on 'Horizon', a highly reputable TV documentary collaberation with the B.B.C. last night.
'Dangers': as in regards to physical addiction, social dynamics, impact on families..and generally how the drugs impact on society.
A few surprises in here.
1. Heroin.
2. Crack/ Cocaine ( the greedy drug)
3. Barbituates (pink ladies etc)
4. Methadone.
5. Alcohol ( generally regarded as the #1 public health issue)
6. Ketamine.
7. Vallium, benzodiazepine.
8. Amphetamine ( speed)
9.Cigarettes/ tobacco.
10.Bupenorphine (subbies)..never heard o these.
11.Cannabis ( due to dependancy, memory-loss, paranoia phsycosis...these are after prolonged use)
12. Solvents.
13. 4MDMA ( flatliner)..not familiar with this one either.
14. L.S.D. ( at one point in the 50's was prescribed to over 40,000 in U.K)
15. Methylphendate(sp ?) prescribed to kids with A.D.H.D.
16. Anabolic steroids.
17. G.B.H
18. Ecstacy ( yes ..number 18 you media- manipulating government shysters )
19. Poppers ( amyl nitrate )
20. Khat ( a natural leaf stimulant which can be chewed raw )

At the end of the day, the danger is the user, not the drug.

The thing that impacted me the most was the fact that we had respected specialists in their given fields, telling the truth and dispelling the myths of XTC on prime-time television. God bless em.
with regards to omissions of certain drugs- this was regarding the UK , but must be near the mark in most countries. Oh, and don't shoot the messenger !

do they mean 3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methamphetamine? AKA MDMA? Which is the primary active chemical in "ecstasy" tabs? In fact, I've always regarded ecstasy as the more dangerous substance, since I always just figured ecstasy was a generic term for street pills that are supposed to contain MDMA, but often with a cocktail of other additives.

Or have I just taken too much 4MDMA?

There was a similar list compiled by an international group of physicians (The DHI [drug harm index] or something?) I'm researching now...
