booze on a public beach??

sooo... whats the deal with drinking on the beaches in miami? are there coppers patrolling the beach like in reno 911 miami? i'm not going to be chugging beers sitting on the cases and hucking the bottles into the ocean, things will be on the d/l of course.

anyone know?

Our first year.. we ended up having a nice discussion with some of South Beach's finest.

They said the one thing that concerns them is glass on the beach. So as long as you do not have glass on the beach you will be good to go...

When I was there years ago there were street vendors where you could buy a can of beer and it came in a 12oz can sized brown paper bag. Plenty of people were drinking while walking around down there.

Yeah, we bought a cheap cooler and canned beers for the beach. Like everyone said, just don't bring any glass on the beach and it's pretty OK to drink on the beach.

ive caught shit for having canned beers on the beach before. theres signs everywhere that say no alcohol. you may get away with it or you may get a ticket. just go to wet willies or fat tuesdays, get yourself a frozen drink and walk down ocean drive with it. no one will tell you anything for that. but beers on the actual beach. thats a bit iffy.

On the beach Just keep it in the cooler and pour it in a red plastic cup, no one will bust chops

We didnt have any problems last year with drinks, just made sure to keep it low key and in cups, no bottles or anything of the sort. Out here we have lots of private beach areas with public access and that makes a great recipe for some fantastic days of floating on inner-tubes and drinking frostys in the ocean!!

I think it's funny... They are so strict about bottles and trash but last year I was at the beach and there were 3 lesbians (one topless) and the other girl was sucking on her tit. Pretty funny...
