Premiership Games to be played abroad
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foo...rem/7232390.stm
I'm very skeptical about this and a lot of people in the UK are pissed off.
I didn't agree with the NFL playing games in the UK. Why should we have to copy them? Another mass marketing ploy to sell more merchandise rather then the game. If anyone wants to argue the toss that this is not about money then why are they going to stage games in Dubai and not Delhi for an example? Let's hope Glazier, Hicks and Gillett don't get any ideas, it's not a fucking francise lads it's a sport and a damn fine one at that.
To any of you who try and get the game I wish you good luck. As in a stadium of 80,000 only half the tickets will actually go to the REAL fans, the rest will be corperate.
as much as it'd be cool to see a match here in new york, it just sounds SO WRONG. 39th game!

I'm totally against the idea of farming out the national sport to the highest bidder, it may start at 1 game a season but money talks, and I can see it being extended to more than this. Once again the real fans will lose out. |
They should just play the community shield overseas if they wanted to showcase English football
This is going a bit overboard
maybe we'll get leeds united v oldham by then

| The more I think about this the funnier it is. Can you imagine cities fererishly bidding to host Bolton vs Sunderland? 'Do I hear $100m, $50, $1m.... OK will someone at least offer to pick the teams up at the airport?' |

Suddenely one the tattoed bald blokes turns and says in broad South London accent 'You find that funny you fucking little black c*nt' the rest of the pitballs assembling behind him what ensued was us cycling full pelt with a pack of animals in pursuit throwing beer bottles at us. |

Real fans, with real commitment and not a care in the world about crushing someones skull just cos they supported the opposition, FANTASTIC!! I miss those days, even the old firms never end in violence anymore. My home town used to be brilliant when celtic and rangers played. Running battles up and down the street were the norm for a saturday or sunday afternoon kick off. |

i'm excited. i wouldn't even mind going to a sunderland/bolton game. the quality of play in the premiership is just so much better and more enjoyable to watch. watching MLS is like everything was just put into slow motion.

rumor has it that Liverpool might play a game in Montreal because of Gillett's implication with the team.

Malcom Glazer has been nothing but wonderful for our football team.... The Buccaneers. since he bought our club in 95 he turned it around and won a super bowl in 2002, new stadium in 99, super bowl will be played in Tampa next year too, and he personally financed the league's best pratice facility and headquarters,.. top notch... he is a greatly respected individual in our community...
we applaud him for purchasing the United and doing for them what he did for us...
Honestly, I'm just happy if any of the clubs come over to the US to tour and play friendlies.
Even though I would go to a game if this plan goes through in a heartbeat no matter who's playing, it won't replicate the feeling of going to a match in England.

I could write thousands of words why this shouldn't happen but i'll stick with simply adding 'Sell Out'
