Best legal non-prescription pain-killer?

My lower back has been killing me. What's the best legal pain remedy available without a prescription?

Aspirin and ibuprofen don't seem to do much of anything for me. I'm going to the doctor about this on Monday, but until then I want something to kill the pain.

sorry dude, everything OTC sucks and is no better than what you already tried. Maybe get drunk so you forget about the pain?

laying down flat on the ground for a half hour, 3 times a day.

what caused the pain? a sports massage will probably help, assuming it is muscular.

"Hey Mary Kate, is it cool if I like, die on your couch and stuff?"

*yes I know this didn't happen.

Threw out my back trying to bend down. It happened after exercise, though, when my muscles were still tense. That was almost two weeks ago and it still hurts like crazy.

"threw out your back", as in a slipped vertebrae? i'm suprised your doc didn't give you a prescription already.

you need some muscle relaxers. I recommend Somas (need a script or drug dealer though)

i doubt he threw out a vertebrae bending over. most likely just a pulled muscle

after 2 weeks, i highly doubt it is muscular. he probably has inflamation or a herniation. if you have a bit of swelling, the best cure is heat pack in the morning (to warm it up before you start moving) and icepack at the end of the day. a waist brace may also help. if you have a herniation (which i think is more likely after 2 weeks), go to a doctor. your spine isn't something you want to fuck with.

I find it entirely appropriate that xanax is posting in this thread.

Do we always have to resort to drugs?

Hey, I haven't taken anything most of this time. I was ready to wait it out. But it really fucking hurts, especially when I first get up in the morning, and now that it hasn't gone away I'm worried that I may have permanently damaged something.

My BF has that. I use it every once in a while... can cause headaches from the blood rush though.

booze will make you feel better... until you wake up the next day.

lie completely flat on a hardwood floor, soak in a jacuzzi, and pray that your doctor gives you something good!

Funny thing is, I used to try the usual painkillers (aspirin and friends) but they never really had much effect on me. Then not too long ago I started having some rum whenever I get light aches, and it works wonders.

just get drunk and try not to do anything stupid that will result in more pain in the morning.
