I was less than impressed.. I was in the TA chatroom for a while, and I saw it for a bit, but then he played this one song, and I wanted to cry, because it was so shitty, and then I look in the chatroom, and fox is goin crazy typin out the lyrics lol, i guess it wasnt that bad though, that one song though inspired me to turn it off, its the one with the female vocals like "take me higher" or somthing like that, honestly I dont remember anymore

Sneaker Pimp

Paul van Dyk @ Mayday has a long tradition and every Mayday-Set from Paul is a real Burner but this year is much bigger than before....

Such an energetic set with prettey bangin' trancers and a paulvandyk-like tracklisting.

Awesome!

Top 5 Tracks today:

Rank 1 - Awakening (Original)
Ferry Corsten - Punk (Original)
DJ Tiesto - In My Memory (Airwave Remix)
Push - Tranzy State Of Mind
Perpetuous Dreamer - Dust Wave (Dub Mix)

Keep it bangin' - keep it Vandit

Paul van Dyk - Live at Mayday 2oo2 <--- Rocks my world

I love this set. As mentioned before it's a very energetic set with many cool phatt tunes...

One of the first sets (maybe the first) I heard by PvD was PvD - Live at Mayday 2000 and it was wicked. And the new set is even cooler than back in 2000.

This set is definetly going to be burned on a CD... that's for sure

I agree with most of you on this one. Good set . . . decent transitions, nothing really stuck out as not fitting as I wasn't focusing too much on listening. Just to prove to you all that I'm not a PvD hater. I liked this set and will put it on disc as well. I still think the other one on here was of horrible quality though.

Dunno

as nice as it seems..... there are some tracks which just grew old...... nu nrg dreamland was played in last years mayday!!!!
punk and some tracks are the one's we heard in PVD at knebworth and Rosenmontags...... it's getting reppetitive..... i'd say pvd is not impressed with the latest releases.....

Posted by JM on May-12-2002 06:17:

not nearly as good as Mayday 2000 but still ok. i dunno, back in the day, i LOVED every TUNE that PVD spun, these days...shit....i like 1 out of every 5 tunes he spins

Angry

PVD is my favourite dj, so it comes with some disappointment that Im posting this. This was the only set from PVD that I have erased from my hard drive.

Posted by vmc on May-15-2002 20:23:

After listening to this set for some time I found it extremely hard. It's much harder than previous PVD sets and I think that only trancEaddict/technoaddict, electronic music addict can be able to stand it (you know what I mean).

Thats what I like about the set - its hard. PvD is a great producer and DJ, and his live sets are always excellent, but I prefer the harder stuff like Christopher Lawrences album "Temptation." To each his own.

Damn I love this set. I don't give a fcuk if a choon is unreleased or 56 years old, I don't give a shit if in the ID3 under genre it reads trance, techno, house or reggae, as long as it sounds good to my ears, I like it.

Its a Good set! a massive improvement from the year before! when PvD was too pissed to mix or do anything right ok he dont play all the tunes I wanted to hear. But at least his getting back on track less of the drink & more on his DJ/Production work.

Posted by DJ_Skaya on Jul-18-2002 03:14:

I have to congratulate PvD for this set, its fantastic! The opening tune (Rhythm Gangster - The Crowd Song) is MASSIVE:! His mixing was technically very good in this set, just one minor mistake that you would never hear unless you are a dj and listening for that stuff . I didn't think the flow of this set was particularly smooth (probably because he was trying to condense a 2 hour set into 1 hour), but the amount of energy in the tracks and the way he mixed it more than make up for it. This baby's not only on cd, it's in my regular Rotation

Tracks that own this set:
01. Rhythm Gangstar - The Crowd Song: INSANE INTRO
03. Fisherspooner - Emerge (Westbam Remix)
04. Mainx - 88 To Piano (Paul van Dyk Rework) OMFG!!!
09. Ralphie B - Massive (Paul van Dyk Remix) Classic
11. E-Cutz - And They Start To Dance (Kaylab Remix) - UNBELIEVABLE, this remix is ten times better than the one everyone else plays
12. Unknown - Take Me Higher (Paul van Dyk Mix) - people on the site were trashing this song, this one will get crowds jumping any day of the week!

Good set, but Ive heard better from PVD in the past. Fischerspooner - Emerge was definately the most banging track. I dont know about the "take me higher" track though. Sorta reminds me of Happy Hard Core.

Terribly disappointing set . like my signature says, i know SFA about trance, i just know what i like. after downloading the montags set i was totally blown away and went PvD crazy (havent liked him before this) but then this mayday set reminded me why i didnt like him to start with. 4/10.

oh well, back to AvB for me!

Anyone who knows if its possible to get your hands on the version of Rhythm Gangsta - The crowd song and Mainx - 88 to Piano? I suppose both of them are Paul van Dyk rework versions?

They are so damn goood =)

Yes, those are rework versions. Unfortunately only PvD has them
