When a guy like Mauro comes to town, It should be on Friday or Saturday. I cant go on Wednesdays cause of work (and I cant quit either).....

I don't go out to see many people during the week since I work all week and refuse to show up feeling like ass. I've missed many people, simply because it wasn't worth taking time off for a night out. I make that sacrifice then have a good time on the weekend.

But Mauro? .... hahaha, whatever day he comes, I will be there.

I don't understand how these huge Djs can play at a shit club like
System SoundBar. They've been all over the world and played at amazing clubs, and then end up playing at System Soundbar in T.O. I don't see these DJs making the effort to play an incredible set. Why would they? Small crowd and small venue. How hype can System get? I know from experience having heard some Djs play at System and the Guv, and it's ALWAYS way better at the Guv.

It always feels as though I'm at someone's house party in their freakin' basement, back in highschool.

Well my friend its all politics! You see Mauro's North American booking agent is the same guy who runs Breathe at systems on Friday.. So basically he can dictate what club Mauro goes to in TO, end of story, even if there are other offers for him here in Toronto..

But like i said, its politics...

The night Mauro played at System goes down as one of the best nights in Toronto's history! System is a great club with a great crowd that gets great talent. I'd much rather see my favorite DJ play an intimate setting than a superclub, with thousands of nasty patrons I don't want breathing the same air as I do. Yes, the Guv is a nicer club with better lights & sound, but System is still WAY better than some of the other smaller clubs in town. If big DJ's should only play big clubs, then there would be no point to the "Big DJ Small Club" series, would there?

its not always bad to see guys like picotto in small venues. it usually means that the dj will feel the crowd better and probly hang out after the set. i saw oakie in a tiny venue in the states and he said that it was good for him to be playing a real club crowd and not a huge party. so, i bet mauro is relieved to not be playing another stadium. as for the crowd and vibe at system, I found it to be kickin for fleming. even tho he spun a mostly progressive set, I still had fun because the vibe was so intense (and the doves were killEr). the guv is NOT always a better venue, take the judge's performances for example. of course I'd rather hear picotto on the phazon, but sometimes they dont even use their full sound capacity because their saving energy for sat nights or some shit, and you've got all those people there that dont even care about the mUZAK (booooo)...i definately dont mind partying at system. and for those who can't make it cuz u've got work, DAMN, live a little, take the day off dude. Anyways, hope to see all of you there and retarded PICOTTO is gonna be intense

Ask many big DJ's and they will tell you it's the smaller parties that are more fun. You may think playing for thousands is great, they on the other hand also find small intimate places amazing. System is a good venue, as is The Guv. But the Guv isn't an intimate type atmosphere, system can be. For those of you who saw Gielen at Limelight with like 200 other people, I thought it was f*cking amazing. Shit turnout, terrible club, overall night? One of the most memorable!

w00t! this works for me. Wed is a great night seeing as I'm done university and my exams are over. This is gonna be such a sweet night. I love to party on Wednesdays, the vibe is just sooo much better because the crowd is definately there for the music. I also really like the intimate atmoshere with a huge headliner. Some of the best times I've had have been during Wednesday nights.
