Alley Tunes

Does anybody know if this is re-opened? I've heard it was becoming a cafe/record store but other people said they're not doing vinyl at all anymore...

Posted by DaveGiraffe on Feb-10-2008 06:33:

still open and selling records

cafe expansion seems to be doing pretty well for them too!

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Feb-10-2008 07:02:

Thanks for that

Posted by Philby on Feb-10-2008 09:41:

yeah was in there a couple of weeks ago mmmm cheap old classics

Posted by 00soups00 on Feb-10-2008 11:10:

not quite the same as it used to be. A couple of French guys own it now. Nice enough fellas, however the catalog system just isnt quite as easy as it used to be. Things not sorted by label as well as genre any more.. plus the turntables they are using are piles 'o crap. one of which doesnt even have the metal knob in the centre of the platter.. A couple of small gripes, however the move to add the cafe section to the business in addition to the renovations are of positive note.

was also got beaten by somewhat obscure DJ from having the coveted '2 Phat Cunts - Ride' from that shop. What a cunt.

LOL, it sounds like you bought a lot of records from my old collection. I took crates and crates of prog vinyl to Alley Tunes as I haven't had any use for them for a long time

Enjoy!

Oh Sasha

How could you possibly part with...

Sean Q6 - Of Course (Bedrock Records) 12"
Loki - NYCU (Easy Access) 12"
Yunus Gvenen - Invasion EP (Bedrock Records) 12"
Guru Josh - Whose Law (Is It Anyway?) (Deconstruction) 12"
John Creamer / Stephanie K* - Wish U Were Here (Not On Label)

!!!

(if they were indeed in your crate)

Only three of those would have been mine I think. How could I part with them?

Quite simple, records are there to be heard, not to sit in a dark corner of my garage as some sort of collectable. It was very unlikely that I would ever play them again, so I thought why not let someone else play and appreciate them!

I only sold plastic, not the memories!

Posted by Dean Millson on Apr-02-2008 06:51:

LOL i didn't mean for that Guru Josh tune to be in there haha.

imo the memories are in the plastic! But each to their own

Love this tune, was on Kasey Taylor's Balance 002 Disc 2 .. I think he mixed out from either Loki - NYCU (James Holden rmx) or Infusion - Black Weekend into that..

great find, Rysh!
