REVIEW Ferry Corsten @ The Guvernment
ohhhhhhhh im killin myself for leaving so early.....hes still playin and im sure hes still killin it....
jon jon gets tune of the night for that - "What the Fuck" tune...to sloppy to go n search the proper name of it....
more later.....
i am regretting leaving early as I saw ferry on the decks really low and playing some very chill melodic trance.. the tune of the night 4me was of course the SUNLIGHT!!! enjoyed gallery as well loving the 'shout it out' to my fav ladie --SYDNEY !!,, ..,, cool chillin with invasion and electro.. i think u2 were sketchtastic !!!
missed seeing yankeebaby.. sorry i didn't get to say hi!
just got back~ WOW what a fuckin night!
Ferry played untill 7am by the way! AWESOME!
More detailed info later
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Thank god I stayed till the end he just gets better and better!! anyways sleep time, more on this matter when I wake up!
This was probably one of the best nights I've had in a long time. I met so many if you. Thanks Lisa, Josh, RJ, Margaret, Vince for a great night! You guys are awesome! I met more of you but I couldn't remember all of your names (sorry i have bad memory plus there was lots i had to remember)
As far as the music goes.
Jon Jon - Early in the night he was kinda slow but totally understandable considering the room he was spinning in. However, after about 1am or so he just picked it up. What an awesome set. First time hearing him spin and I am very impressed (except that one train wreck transition
)
Tall Paul - just meh. I listed to him for about 15 minutes and then went back to Acid lounge as Jon Jon was tearing it up!
Ferry- Just an awesome set, what else can I say. He played very hard right from the start and kept it going all the way till 7am!
overall score 10/10
Once again thanks to all the TA's for a great night.
P.S. it was great meeting the NYTA's, yankeebaby and kadomony

im pissed i missed this show. thats for sure.......
I wish I made it but sometimes life happens ....wouldn't expect ANYTHING less from Fairy oops i mean FERRY !!!!
more reviews
that was probably the best set ever heard in 8 shows that I have seen Ferry. A few fluffy vocal tracks but after Big Sky he just pounded it. As already said it just got better as the night went on. Last two tunes were perfect, Exhale and Right of way. Still very impressed with set at the moment. Bring on J00f next week.
great seeing everyone,
whitey

As for comments on Ferry's performance last night, it was Ferrytastic!
I thought his first hour was little slow, but he adjusted to the crowd really well and started playing more progressive trance afterwards.
i think the best part of the night was his last 2 hours of his set, playing the classic old school trance songs!
these were my fav. tunes of the night,
System F - out of the blue (old school classic)
Ferry Corsten - Beautiful
Dj Tiesto - Ten Seconds Before Sunrise
btw, anyone remmeber the song after 'system f - out of the blue' track? i cant remember the title of track
armin and ferry are just off-the-hook
BIG SKY - ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!!!!
Loved Ferry's set from start to finish. I had a great time. Who was that dood in the dreadlocks anyway? I kept waiting for him to fall off the DJ booth.

Man... what a night...first time in years I was clock watching... and cursing it every time I saw how much time was going by so quickly.
First off, hats off to Jon Jon.... loved the set man ..great start to what was a spectacular night.
As always, Ferry simply brought the "A" game, and had people losing it right to the very end.
And as always, great times with the TOTA massive. Glad to see RJ, Coxx, Chinamon, Lisa, Jon Jon, InvasionMix, and all the rest (b/c I could just sit here listing names, or I could just get to the point), because as we all know it's the people that make the party.
Killer times guys! Can't wait to do it all again.
And now it's time for some much needed post-sleep couch action with the good old NHL Centre Ice package.
CHEERS!!!!!

Jon's Random Night in the Acid Lounge Review
Getting the chance to play 7h 20m (I'm keeping track for personal record purposes lol) in one of the most random of Guvy's rooms last night was definitely a crazy 'experience'. Im really really doing my best NOT to review my own night in the room but rather to share some insight into the random events of my personal soiree. Overall a VERY positive one (and I look forward to doing it again) but here are some highlight/lowlights.
Firstly, the crowd put simply, the Acid Lounge is by far one the weirdest rooms/spaces anyone could ever DJ in. George Williams is a hero, oh man. It's a very extreme blend of people wanting to fall asleep from exhaustion (lol) and people wanting it CZ style gunning. To make matters worse it's very much a 'transition room'. Depending on what is happening in the main room the Acid Lounge can empty out completely, and fill up RAMMED in like 5 mins. Hah So weird to see it happen, especially when it has nothing to do with what you're doing musically. People will walk out straight in the middle of a breakdown. Hah It's fucked.
Secondly, the magical Guv CDJ with a mind of its own. Hah I was hesitant to post this as it actually sounds like a very lame excuse. But believe me people it's real (I'm praying that Val or Vince vouch for me in this post lol). In my (give or take) 8 years of mixing tunes I've never struggled as hard as I did last night. I thought I was beginning to lose my mind, when (with an hour left in the night) I remembered back to a conversation I had (ACTUALLY THIS WEEK) with other Guv residents regarding 1 particular CDJ in the Guv being cursed. The pitch on this fvcker had a mind of its own! Once I realized that was the problem I was laughing hysterically, you can actually hear the tempo sliding on it's own back/forth, up/down whatever fuck VERY slightly. As you can imagine, this made the 7+ hours even more pleasurable for me. (that was sarcasm) In the end I think I managed to "quick mix" my way out of most, but WOW, that was annoying! I know there is a firmware upgrade downloadable for CD that Pioneer made for the 1000's (specifically addressing said Master Tempo issues), and I've been spending the last hour trying to find discussion on it as best to prove that I'm not losing my mind. I generally hate when people bitch about their sets and are negative about mistakes they've made, and I'm really not trying to do that in this point. I loved playing the set, and it went fine, I just wanted to share how random that was.
Other Random Notables:
- The picture frenzy that spanned most of the night. Haha What the hell was that!? I'm really not trying to sound like an arrogant DJ poster boy here. But amidst trying to pull of mixes with a broken CDJ I was also for some reason HOUNDED to not only BE in pictures (like posing with people hah) but to also TAKE pictures of people. hah Was weird and made for some great laughs. (I'm sure will make for even better pictures)
- The tunes. I played 80% of my CD book. (the other 20% isn't playable lol) At the 7 hour mark, I literally ran out of tunes. Hah fuck.
- Midway through the night, out of nowhere an older Asian dude walks straight up to me, doesn't say a word, nods and gives me a crisp 50 dollar bill. WTF! Just as he goes to walk away I reach over and out of the DJ booth, grab his arm and I'm like "dude, take your money back, what do you want me to do with it". He grabs it, looks at it (as if he had no idea what it was), smiles and then kind of makes a "yeah you're right face" and leaves the room never to be seen again. In a nutshell that story describes my night pretty well. Hah
One of the best parts of the night was finally getting to meet SO many TAs that I had yet to meet... The ACTUAL trance fans. Too many to name, all good times. I was also SO glad to see my regular TOTA crew surprise me. (And also my best friend from Ottawa who parties once a year, shows up unexpectedly in a dress suit) hah
