Funny you mention that.... Just looking at my school, there's so many people that listen to groups like Justice and Daft Punk (mostly Justice though)... Like people who look like they'd listen to Mobb Deep are blasting dirty French electro by Justice.... Very interesting.... Although, I forgot who said it, it was a really prominent DJ who was saying how shitty the state of EDM was... He said something along the lines of, "The 6000 people at a sold-out Justice concert aren't there because they're Justice mega-fans or anything... Justice is what's 'cool to listen to' at the moment, and these are the type of people who would dance on tables if the new Britney Spears single was played." I know it sounds jealous or envious of Justice's success but his main argument was that we need to reevaluate what we consider success in the EDM scene... Does a successful group or style of EDM breed even more ignorance (like the average JP fan for example) or should we take it for what it is?... Idk, I thought it was an interesting article, I wish I could remember whose quote that was though!

LOL i didn't even know that was actually Daft Punk until now....i thought they just jacked their sound for the song.

I could have done without Kanye

glad they actually had a triangle setup and showed the inside shot of daft punk instead of just kanye.

seemed like many knew who they were holding the triangle hand sign before kanye started to sing.

They need to be at Ultra. Supposedly one of them is going deaf...

I could not believe what I was seeing, it was crazy to see daft punk on national tv, props to Kayne for having them share the stage with him.

When I saw the pyramid I dropped my jaw & I was like no way!

And then I saw the background lights and I was like could it be!

Then when the pyramid opened I started screaming out of joy!
Brought back SO many good memories! (Saw them 3 times in concert!)

Oh and when they were wearing their orange LED suits that they wore at their encores on their US tour, I was so happy!

Omg when they showed inside the booth I was so incredibly happy!

Oh did I mention I met the woman who designed those LED suits at the Daft Punk after party in LA this summer? Oh yeah! That was so cool!

This totally made the grammys!

i like some of kanye's stuff but honestly it would be much better if he weren't there at all, even the crowd seemed to react more to the daft punk stuff

Just in case you were not convinced by the Grammy's,
Kanye West is truly humility incarnate...

You also gotta love the $4,000,000 "replica" of the Sistine Chapel in his house:

no just Kanye, daft punk is what made that song a hit imo (although I do laugh at the black kate moss line every time I hear it). I do think Kanye has some good tracks but you won't catch me buying a Kanye cd anytime soon, kid urks me.

Daft Punk sold their musical soul to whore it out for commercial purposes It's nothing new for Kanye, it is for Daft Punk...

but don't a lot of artists at some point in time sell there musical soul to whore it out for commercial purposes....

just saying.....of EDM is a true and respected form of music (in the "music" world) at some point in time it will become commercial and there will be a lot of sell-outs...happened to r&b, grunge rock, rap, hip hop, etc.

I just think its the inevitable in any genre of music, eventually it has to turn commercial even if the fans don't want it to

as if we're not already familiar with this concept?? lets play a game: how many EDM producers can you name off the top of your head?? and how many of them have done remixes for commercial artists??
