So I just found out today a guy I went to school with (knew who he was, not friends or anything) is getting busted for child porn. WTF, seriously, I hope they nail his ass.

I'm not certain on how the law handles differences in age, if it makes any distinction whatsoever, but I think there is a very large difference in pornography with 8 year olds in it and pornography with 16 year olds in it. I guess the only ones you hear about are the guys who get busted for having 2 terabytes of 6 year-olds being raped, but it also seems somewhat odd that you could, in theory, get the same punishment as that guy for having pics of naked 16-17 year-olds on your computer... which anyone who has ever visited myspace or 4chan could probably be in the possession of in their computer's cache.

Put em jail?

Pedophilia was a somewhat accepted act amongst ancient Greek nations and societies while similtaneously a reviled one amongst neighbouring nations of its time - are we more advanced than they are? In terms of thought? In terms of society? Is there advancement or is there only difference? Choose your answer carefully...
