echo audiofire users i get worse performanance why?
audiofire4! everyone rates this card so maybe im diong something wrong! just tonight ive found out this
i get cpu overload on tracks i never used to before i installed this card, my old terratec pci card is still installed but i disabled it in device manager, im sure its set ok in cubase, and ive also tried different buffer sizes but that makes no difference! ive also downloaded the latest drivers, its pissing me off because i bought this card so i could have the extra outputs for dj reasons and for the pre amps and headphone jack, but i also thought it would improve performance with the drivers! im stumped but atmo im thinking of sending back while i can
anyone on a budget btw i recomend the cheap 2i/o terratec card!comes with cutdown fruity too which is cool, i use it for making drum loops alot!!
has anyone any ideas on what cud be the problem or was my old card just better? could it be my firewire port maybe?
edit! id appreaciate any help cheers

thanks for your reply, im guessing you mean for my new computer rather than for a fix for this one then, i can handle a few months, ill go back to concentrating on patch design which i love! i love this hobby and the more i spend on it the more problems i face! this is never gonna stop is it!!!! its worth it imo!
there was another thread just some weeks ago by echosystm which firewire card u should get. i couldnt find it with a search but im guesing he will read this thread too soon and post the link.
You should be able to get a usable firewire card for under $50 if you don't feel like waiting. Not really sure but I'm guessing they're not that expensive...
If your motherboard has onboard sound, make sure to disable it in the BIOS. That helped a LOT for me.
