Funk Einsatz - Punk vs Ferry Costen - Punk

It was released by Ferry under Funk Einsatz alias, but currently everyone labels it as Ferry Corsten.
What's the deal?

btw, IMO Funk Einsatz looks better.

Doesnt really matter, it was by ferry.

So who cares.

So many aliases, posted in another thread.

Dancing Dude

The Funk Einsatz has those breaks. much better. it fits the song.

Originaly it was Funk Einsatz but they decided to rename it for some reason. BUt as far as i am aware there are no differences !!

The difference:
Funk Einstaz - Punk = Ferry Corsten - Punk (Original mix)

Which means no vocal. The Funk Eins. release has only the instrumental version. Only under Ferry Corsten there are the remixes (Except Kid Vicous I think, which is also under Funk Eins.) and only Ferry's has vocal (I think there isn't "FC - Punk (Original mix)", only "Fu.Ein. - Punk" and "FC - Punk (Extended Vocal)".

well during the summer of 2001, ferry debuted punk in ibiza and released it on promo soon after under the alias "Funk Einsatz". This is german i believe for "Begin Radio". Anyways...the white label was given to many top djs, one that i know of for sure was timo maas and even he had no idea who produced the track as according to a person in TA a while back who asked him at an event. I believe i remember ferry corsten saying in an interview that he didnt want to release punk under the alias funk einsatz and instead decided to go with his full name. He then proceeded to release the song on his Tsunami label but not before "domesticating" the song for the U.S.A. with a new vocal line and some other sound effects. Actually, i believe that you can buy the orignal version (without the vocals and extra sound effects) of Ferry Corsten - Punk on

http://www.htfr.com/vinyl/moreinfo.php?catno=MR80322

Funny thing is, this version of the vinyl is labeled as ferry corsten not funk einsatz(and its released on Positiva as a promo, not Tsunami...weird)...so i dont think there is much of a difference in the names, just that ferry didnt want to use it as his release alias.
oh and by the way never order from www.htfr.com ! its horrible!

positiva is releasing this track. perhaps they will feature the original non-vocal afterall.

I'm not sure that the "orignal" mix on positiva is going to be the same that was on the white labels. I just got an email from a guy that was selling the Positiva promo's on Ebay and he said that original mix had the 'digital punk' vocal running after about half way through the track. I don't see why Positiva would put a different version out on a promo disc and call it "Original Mix" though.....

IMO releasing Punk under Ferry's real name is a kind of mistake because the track is much different from other Ferry's productions. So I think he should have released it under Funk Einsatz because of it's difference. Before Punk, My Dance was released under Funk Einsatz, it's a cool banging trancer (one of my favs too, btw) which maybe isn't very similar in genre to Punk, but much more than for eg. Ferry's remix of Rank 1's Awakening.
Good think he didn't release it under System F....

I don't know, maybe it doesn't really matter, but that's my opinion.

sorry guys, but i really don't see what's so great about this track...

i don't really even find it trancey...
