Apple has planetary dominance?

So I'm watching the tele and over the past year I've noticed something over and over again. It's Apple. It's in every TV show I can think of. No matter what laptop ppl are using, it's 99.9% Apple. How much are these ppl paying out to all the shows to stick their product in your face? Quite frankly I'm getting tired of them. I'm not saying they don't build a solid product, but I can't turn my head without an Apple product getting shoved up my ass. All the local electronic box stores promote the IPod like it's the only MP3 player available to the populous. A local top 40 radio station here in T.O always mentions the IPod. I think Apple bought them too... at least it looks like that. Most of their commercials on TV are constantly attacking PC's and is driving me up the wall. I compare them to Pepsi. Pepsi never could say that they had a superior product over Coke, but all their commercials were geared to attack Coke at every turn. The same goes with Apple. Always attacking both the PC world and Microsoft. They're not really showcasing what their computers can do and why it is so "superior" over PCs. They are giving their systems away to educational institutes to try and get the newcomers to the computer world hooked on their dam products.

Slowly Apple is trying to brainwash us all by making us beleive they are the only thing in the world.

The one thing apple is really good at is mass marketing.

I remember when I worked in a computer store, 99.99% of the people who came in looking for ipods had no idea that there were other mp3 players on the market. Most people won't bother doing their own research, they'll just regurgitate whatever commercials tell them.

apple hired the right marketing people. those guys deserve to get paid big bucks.

Oh, they have been paid VERY well...

Apple is one of the only company's in consumer electronics, other than Microsoft that are true innovators of the industry.

Apple computers just look cooler than any Microsoft computer

What I find puzzling is how they have a superb OS (Mac) and give such a shitty support to iPod owners. Their firmware updates are shit, and their customer service to iPod owners is worse. Assholes.

ROFL i never saw this before..but its so fucking true. they are A LOT easier to force to crash than a pc. for shit sakes, we used to purposely find key combos that would make the mac reboot and require the system to be reinstalled. it wasnt that hard either!

it's not that shocking that you find similarities between pepsi and apple, seeing as one of the main guys from pepsi got recruited to apple to boost up sales and head up marketing.

Apple is so fucking shit; everything they make is complete garbage, but everyone just eats it right up because of their great marketing.

I suppose that's the same in every field though; people continue to watch shit movies and listen to shit music when if they dug a little deeper they'd find something decent, and people are content to eat McDonalds when there is a home-made burger joint around the corner serving burgers twice as big, half the price, and better tasting.

I wasn't aware of the fact that Macs are easy to crash these days, because I hate using them and hence never do. I remember in the 90's that was a Mac's biggest draw card over a PC; it was far more reliable.

My first computer was an Apple Macintosh II, now THAT was an awesome piece of equipment. 16mHz processor!

why are 99,9% of all music/film studios (and dj setups) powered with Macs? a coincidence? marketing? i think (though i never actually worked on a mac) that Macs are more suitable for pro-work like music production/djing since they are told to be more reliable and for stupid mcdonald-eater-and-shakira-in-ipod-listener because they are easy to use. you have everything you (stupid chicken brains) need like browser, photo, mp3, mail and garageband for the talented emos. its like a XBOX vs PC. the graphics are worse but you need not install anything. real plug&play.
PC, on the other hand, takes some time and brain matter to setup and tweak correctly, install a bunch of 3rd-party apps, add/remove components, a few reghack here and there, backup the logical drive... but at the end of the day the PC gives you more possibilities, like a 6 speed manual gearbox vs lazyass automatic. imho

No thats comeplete bullshit. Its just that making a track longer then 3/4 minutes is really hard. Therefore its cheaper to make easier tracks so thats whats pushed for and therefore is popular.

Macs may or may not be better then pcs... but everything else is DEFENITLY better then ipods. Not only is everything else cheaper... but you usually get more functions and usually better user interface (thinking iRiver here). Seriously whats with all these retards buying iPods... they look pretty gay too.

Like about 3 months ago I got a iRiver mp3 player (I lost my pioneer one which I had before)
for 120 bucks instead of like 200 or so (for a shuffle) I got
-1/4 of the size
-10 band equaliser (none of this pop/rock equaliser bullshit)
-A SCREEN
-The ability to play WMA files (sadly not lossless though)
-None of this copy protection bullshit that doesn't let you copy media files off it and stuff
-The ability to copy stuff on and off with windows explorer... and function just like a flash disk

Like for example... why are womens razors a different shape to mens razors? They perform exactly the same job... however one shape looks more manly and one looks more feminine. The iPods look pretty girly... I mean apart from not actually being pink they're pretty much all girl /gay style seriously.

I just laugh at anyone who buys an iPod.

These days the hardware is Intel and the OS is Linux. How much of that is original Mac? 0%
