Orkidea - Metaverse (album)

'Metaverse' is Orkidea's second artist album after the critically acclaimed 'Taika' from 2003. The ten track CD features collaborations with electronic heavyweights Dallas Superstars, Andy Moor, Solarstone, David West and Lowland. Each CD includes an unique code for donwloadable extra content!

i will most likely be buying this unless orkidea has totally gone to shit.
anyway i like the idea of the extra content, but it also makes me wonder if the cd itself is mixed or edited or maybe just the tracks are edited which are offered as a download. also i wonder if the downloads will be wav or flac or some compressed format.

Afaik, the CD is unmixed and some tracks are edited indeed. The extended versions are available as downloads. No idea about the format though.

I've heard 6/10 tracks so far, I'm curious to hear the newer original tracks of his own and the collab with Lowland. Glad to see Requiem released

I really like the sound of most of the tracks played in that video and if athey all sound this good I will most likely buy it.

I will definitely be buying this! Sounds great.

i love the "oldskoolish trance vibe" on orkidea's older stuff. this has none of it IMO. this sounds very amateurish to me somehow. i can't understand how the guy can go from producing such gems as unity, his remix of moovon - rising and leama - labyrynth to making stuff like this.

well all those three are definitely masterpieces, so ofcourse this has nothing on them. but doesn't mean it isn't still good. i think it actually has some of the elements and vibe from those tracks. also you gotta remember that Nicklas was also producing those tracks.

are the new orkidea productions by orkidea himself only (apart from the collaborations of course)?

The Nightwish remix is not bad at all imo but doesn't have the catchyness of his older stuff and the ~12:10 length might be a bit overkill for the elements the remix has...

The preview sounds amazing... can't wait for this!!

well lowland has helped a bit atleast in the nightwish remix, but as far as i know these tracks are more on his own than the old ones (except the collabs ofcourse)

that's too bad. kinda reminds me of armin dropping his engineer and look how his music sounds now (and has sounded like for years).

i can't help but think it's a bit of a cop-out to have remixes of other people's tracks end up on artist albums...

still, very much liked the sound of that preview and that nightwish remix sounded good to me, will definitely be getting this

What does the Killa remix do on the album ?

its so stupid when artists use remixes they made just to fill out the albums length, makes it more a collection of tracks rather than a proper album.

ofra haza remix? huh?

Yeah 45secs into that trailer is the Ofra Haza - Love Song vocals. Sounds like a good one.
