Question Unable to re-name!

Hey guys, has anyone else ever d/l a trak and
been unable to re-name it ?
I've got two Tiesto trax and they won't let me 'open'
File or right click to re-name 'em.
Anybody know a way round this prob' without having
to re-record 'em.

See if you can cut/copy them to another folder and then try to rename.

Dunno

Thanx for the replies chaps.
I've just tried the 'cut & paste' to a different folder,
no luck!!
As for the exact file name:

DJ_Tiesto-Theme_From_Norefjell__DJ_Jan_And_Christophe_Chantzis_Mix-256_CD_Rip-Afternative

Thats one of 'em, the others very similar.
Thinking about it, do you reckon its those (-), didn't
think you could use them in a file name on a web site ?

Oooops sorry, just noticed I must have posted in the
wrong place, I've been moved. Sorry peops!

Is the mp3 being used by another program at the same time? If it's playing in winamp it won't let you change it.

Hey BigJim, I did what ya said and
opened 'em in Winrar and bingo! Managed to re-name 'em,
its only a cosmetic thingy really I just don't
like the _ and ().
Mind you, out of Winrar, one will let me open 'File' when I
highlight it, but one still won't, weird or what??
But at least they look like all me other files now.
Cheers guys for the help.

i had that problem a couple of times. i couldn't rename a few porn clips...it seemed because the file name was too long. i think it worked when i went into dos and renamed the file to something shorter. then, once the file name was shortened, i could then rename it in windows. give that a try.

are you using windows xp? this is a well known bug that happens.. where you try to change the file name you have downloaded, and it says its in use.. even tho its not. i find that if i try a few times in a row itll eventually let me change it.

Nah sothis, running 'windas 98se'.
But hey rockster, might well be cos of what you say though, cos it is a bloody longen, I'll have a look and compare the length of it with the one that will let me now open 'File' see if I can shorten it a bit.
May well have hit the nail on the 'ead there matey, I'll let ya know !

ps. rockster, what ya doing wiv 'porn clips'?
Ya naughty little fella!! (envy)
