Why do you care? If it wasn't for American policy then Castro would have never rosen to power.

Castro resigned??? REALLY???? OMG, so now we should expect big changes??? Wow, I am so overjoyed.

Except the truth of it is that this news is irrelevant. Whoopty doopty doo. Cuba is slowly changing as it is, and I personally think that its a good thing that Castro's brother is running the show. If Cuba today plunged into a democracy free-for-all, we'd see a plummet in the country's standards, economy and ... everything. They're slowly transitioning towards democracy and market reforms. The situation for Cubans has been getting better in the last few years. They should thank the millions of Canadians for helping support their country by spending vacations there and running (some of) their businesses.

actually it was A LACK of American foreign policy that led to Castro lying in order to rise to power.

so i guess General Bautista had nothing to do with it?

Batista had deep connections with US government and its business interests. Batista was backed by US. That brutal dictator was gonna fall sooner or later - he wasnt popular, but ignorance played a big role and then the communists toppled him.
