here in greece till 2002 dial up was the common internet connection

i actually didn't get high speed internet until i moved to Milwaukee in 2002. back then it wasn't available where i lived in NY.

I used it in 99/early 00 until i went onto broadband. Although the 512k broadband i could get back then is about faster than the shit BT are making me use these days. port throttling c�nts.

I remember when a buddy of mine used to live in a shitty trailer park he had free dial up from NetZero. Basically the way it worked is they had a constant ad service running on top of whatever window you were using, anytime we played Diablo he would frequently freeze so that he could close out of the ad service. Funniest thing ever. We would be doing some dungeon run and his character would just stop moving and get killed in the middle of all these monsters while he closed his ads out. Oh man, so many people were mad at him

I've been on cable from the beginning of 2004 to the end of 2006 and on ADSL from the end of 2006 onwards. Before that I used to have a single line ISDN (64k).

I had ADSL for about 8 years then with in 3 years had upgrade from 384K to 768K line because I d/l lot music and play games off that line. I would never go back to dial-up and in million years.
