Total Lunar Eclipse tonight (2/20)

Starts at 10PM eastern.

It's a little cold, but get your ass out there anyway and watch. It looks badass.

Woohoo, cant wait!

About a third of the way in here - perfectly clear, but a frigid -17C w/ the wind chill outside.

Yes how very canadian of him.

Posted by RJT on Feb-21-2008 02:22:

It only sounds worse to those of us living in the U.S. - to the rest of the world that's just the normal way to denote temperature.

Posted by kadomony on Feb-21-2008 02:23:

looks good so far

Well, -17C sounds pretty fucking insanely cold to me.

I have never been that cold in my life

Clean your mailbox, Rob!

(actually, I just wanted to tell you I bumped the thread about that book call "I'm a strange loop", and I think you'd like to check it out)

Actually, I'm glad he used Celsius. I now know how cold it is (had he used fahrenheit, it would be just random numbers for me and most of the world )

its merely 1.4F

nothing to write home about for wintertime in the great lakes region

edit,

also, its the windchill....not the actual air temp. so if you aren't standing in an open field, and have the wind blocked, it won't be as bad

/nerd

Same. I have no idea about Fahrenheit temps

It's not very hard to convert lol

C = F*9/5 + 32
F = (C-32)*5/9

C = freezing point of 0 degrees and boiling temperature of 100 degrees.

F = for dumbazzes

True, but fahrenheit is so weird, it's absolutely impossible for us to have an idea of how cold it is just by looking at the numbers.

As a matter of fact, why the hell don't North Americans use the metric system? Not only it makes more sense, everyone else uses it!
