10,000 B.c.

Who is ready for this movie to come out? I can not wait to see this film. Been a long time since I've seen a movie in the theater.

10,000 BC and they are speaking english?? ha

granted Gladiator which was also a great movie they spoke english too, but still

i think it was Hunt for Red October where they started in Russian and then did a sort of swipe to English transition which was kinda like an unspoken we know its Russian but we are going English for you... very tactifully done...

ok i rambled...

Make you wonder what sort of language was used back then. Had to be very primitive.

The CGI does look pretty clean, I will give it that.

Not really.

There are some polemic hypotheses that claim Proto-Indo-European* could be spoken back then, and PIE seems to have had a really rich grammar (so it would be nonsense to think of it as being "primitive"). Even if it weren't the case, as I personally believe, the advent of language happened much earlier, so there was plenty of time for grammaticalisation to kick in and turn their language into the linguistic mess we're used to.

* More on PIE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proto-...ropean_language

PIE seems harder than any currently spoken language

That was such an excellent movie, one of Sean Connery's finest performance. 10000 BC .. a movie based on a caveman's quest to save mankind from giant prehistoric creatures, I'll pass.
