Audiosurf
WOW.
This game rivals Portal in innovation and kickassery.
Don't be intimidated by the video, theres so many just chill-out modes for the game where you can just cruise along to your tracks.
I pirated it to check it out, and just bought it after playing for about 30 minutes. So worth the $10.
I've been playing since I made this thread
so addictive
just picked it up last night... cant wait to play after work!
Audiosurf vs. Portal
I've been seeing this being promoted lots on steam lately.
Every time I see it, the more I want it.
I'll grab it sometime this weekend maybe.
Pretty soon, I'll be playing on my own music.
But rival Portal? No way.. haha \:D/

Looks like a simpler version of Amplitude on the PS2

can I play a demo of this? looks dazzling. I have no sound in this computer lab, but I'm guessing that plays a big part? The music I mean...
anywhere to purchase this without steam??
is steam inherently bad?
also, I'm downloading the demo right now...actually started before I saw this thread.
Not necessarily, im just old-school and like my system as clean as possible (which is why I dont seem to suffer the same technical issues I read about on forums day in day out).
when I get a laptop, I'm never going online with it. ever.
but for the moment...this is the same pc that literally spontaneously combusted a couple days ago. if that's the only issue, meh. I've had far worse.
as for audiosurf, after playing the demo, the gameplay, itself, is a bit too simple, but also too spastic to last, but for the fact that you really can use any song, and it does a pretty good job of mapping it. the problem is that it's so unintuitive that when it comes time to go into full-on reflex mode in order to keep up (yeah, try playing 'windowlicker' even on medium), you can't. I'll wait to see if it catches on, 'cuz the popularity is going to determine whether it's worth obsessing over or not.

You get used to it... if you're not a fan of puzzlers to begin with, it might take longer to acclimate. You just have to get used to mapping what's in your puzzle grid with your peripheral vision.
I have downloaded the full client about a week ago, havent even tried it yet. Maybe its time to try
Is it possible to play any track? Im just curious, how does that work out?
You can play any track, wma, mp3, ogg, whatever is on your PC pretty much.
The game creates the highway/traffic depending on the song.
I've done some trance songs, pretty fun. Whenever there is a buildup there's a big fuck off hill and once the beat kicks in you fly down it - this game pwnz.
The demo allows you to play only 5 songs, I bought the full thing and loving it.
Yeah I'm playing it, it's so much fun. I've already uploaded 3 vids with some of my fav trance chjoons http://www.youtube.com/user/heki020
I've grown increasingly fond of it.
trance has choons? lying motherfuckin sack of horse shit
