Hey gotta ask....

When you guys record sets, do you guys use an editing program to edit your set after recording, or do you just try and not mess up when you record, and just deal with it if you make a mistake?

If you edit, what prog do you use?
I heard Steinberg WaveLab is great...

I dont "edit" my mixes.. The most i would do is bring up the levels (before I had a decent audio interface). Now with a good sounding mixer (nuo ecler 2) and a tascal us-122l audio interface my mixes turn out great as far as levels go. Now if i mess up a mix/transition, then I usually just leave it if it is minor, otherwise I will start from scratch.

Right now I am using Audacity , but think I might give this wavelab a try.

just cut the ends off the mix so theres no pause b4 you start playing.

Levels if needed
cut set in half for 2cds if needed pretty much it

alright cool, thanks guys.
The main thing i was worrying about was fucking up on a transition.
so i would just start from scratch if i mess up to bad?

Editing a mix in something like Wavelab or Soundforge will take you as long as it would to just re-record it several times. Once it's mixed, it's mixed, unless you are recording each table to a different track then editing, then combining the audio tracks to one. But as long as it is coming out of your mixer in one mixed source, as it normally is, it's not worth trying to fix an actual mix. So, yup... start over... and get really good at not messing up or recovering really quickly if you do.
