"Al Gore Rhythm"

As we've seen with the growing popularity of presidential candidates, music helps a message arrive to the discussion-inhibited. In that same vein, I have recently finished a music video remix of Al Gore's testimony to Congress on Global Warming in 2007. The track I produced for the video has been called "trance" by some. I came to this forum to ask you all if it really is trance? I dont know, I just produced it from the emotional depths of whatever I am. Please watch.

Sounds like MIDI.

looks like you spent a lot of time on this some cool ideas in the music and i think you worked with his voice pretty well.

nice work

ugh can't listen to al gore's stupid bullshit

Posted by camshaft on Feb-25-2008 19:53:

wow man that's some nice editing, real cool. how long did this take you?

Posted by Plomomedia on Feb-25-2008 20:05:

thanks. It took me a long long time. I've been living it and breathing it for at least 4-5 months now. Woven into the edits is a good amount of reflection and personal introspection that, coming out on the other end, has changed my life. thanks again, glad you like it.

it reminds me a lot of your 'mistakes aren't forgotten' track, except not as good

@OP - i think a more accurate description is 'progressive house'. it's a little muzaky, which is understandable given the fact that you want the listener to focus more on gore's words

Posted by Plomomedia on Feb-25-2008 22:10:

I hope that's not an attempt at 'disruption' cause i totally agree with you: Zombie0729's "mistakes aren't forgotten" is much better! warm rich sounds, I admire it a lot.

nope, just making an observation

@Plomo: weird, I was just about to friend you; you beat me to it, haha.

I just watched the vid again, damn impressive. And I'd skipped over the fact earlier that you'd produced the music yourself - nice!

this is so fucking awesome.

Posted by Sadface on Feb-26-2008 02:23:

Very well done.

Sorry, but this reminded me of crappy grade-school science videos (which is sort of what it is, I'm aware).

like those 3-2-1 Classroom Contact shows.

it's interesting, the mixed reviews. some say it's great. some say it sucks. sometimes I think it's great. sometimes I think it sucks. makes sense.
