Joris Voorn - From A Deep Place Remixes [Green]

1. Blank (Deetron Paradise Dub)
2. Blank (Deetron Paradise Beats)
3. No Revolution (Technasia Mix 1)
4. No Revolution (Technasia Mix 2)

Paradise Beats of blank and Mix 1 of No Revolution for me. Nice release.

The Deetron mixes seem a bit better to me. I usually like Technasia a lot, but their mixes here sound a bit standard. I'm all up for this sort of techno but been too intoxicated by too many tracks like this.

Of course the fact Blank is simply a better track to start with might have influenced it.

Loving those No Revolution remixes.

I'm digging No Revolution (Technasia Mix 2).

The percussion in the Deetron Beats mix is amazing.

Picked up all of them except for the Deetron Paradise Dub - just did not like that one so much.

Yup, the whole release.

Really kind of disappointed in the Deetron Beats Mix (though I guess what should I have expected). Just another DJ tool released as a track...

Technasia Mix 2 is pure win. Just to reiterate.

Yes. Mix 2, Technasia - so much win it hurts.

I hope I get a chance to play it on 4/20

'exactly why I bought it.

The thing is that I don't even find it all that good a tool, the phrasing is pants, and unless you're using it at pretty specific locations or to edit a mashup in pre (or something like that), it just seems like an unnecessary and poorly done tool that was released for no reason other than that they could.

I just don't like how it's put together at all.

Posted by Clovis on Mar-03-2008 19:12:

To me its like the intro to the original Blank with extra percussion and a few melody stabs. I can see it working for me to intro something else.

Posted by noikeee on Mar-03-2008 23:08:

First thing I thought of when listening to the sample of the Beats Mix was exactly how it would fit perfectly as a short intro to the original mix of Blank.

I don't see what's the problem with "releasing a DJ tool as a track" either. Sure there has been many tools coming out, and some have been overhyped and overplayed which is totally incomprehensible (Dubfire's shit). But they have its place.

Yes they do, it's called the "DJ Tool" section of Beatport.

They aren't tracks in the traditional sense, it's beyond me why people seem to want to defend classifying them as such. If you'd care to try to rationalize it to me, I'd love to hear your reasoning.
