Once A Vinyl Is Scratched, Is Thier Any Way To Repare?

As the subject sais, is thier anyway possible to repare a vinyl thats scratched at a certain point? Thanks for the help.

Well, once or twice, one of my records got a scratch that made the needle jump, but my friend was able to sort it out with a magnifying glass and a cutting blade. The track doesnt jump anymore, there's just a slight pop.

just do a burn thru

what u do is place the needle a bit before where its scratched and with ur finger spin the record really fast and let it run thru the messed up part...what happens is the needle gets hot and "burns thru"...it works well if u havent totally hacked ur vinyl

if i have a 2 inch scratch across a record, that means i have to do it for all those 2 inches?

Dont' listen to these guys I know what to do.

1. Place needle past said scratch. Doesn't matter how long the scratch is.

2. Apply pressure to the needle

3. Run it BACKWARD through the skip as many times as needed.

4. Voila, no more skip.

5. Go buy a $50 spare stylus cuz u just ruined the one you had

your brave co i wouldnt let any of my friends near my vinyl especially if theyve got a blade to "fix" the problem! bugger that theyd prolly scratch the rest of my vinyl for the fun of it, mind you thats the kind of friends i have!
oh yeah id recommend a new vinyl too!

If your stylus is so shitty that you can never back spin or play your shit backward, then you need to buy something better than fisher price. I've known DJ's that use this method for the past 10 years with no problems.
