The movie came out almost a month ago. So, the two were in production around the same time.

cloverfield did it proper. Not showing us the monster and having all these "conspiracy theories" after the film.

ie.. something falling in the background at the very end of the movie, characters having their own myspace, having an official website for the Japanese company the character was supposed to work for.. etc..

I don't see why anyone would waste their time on this.

well they arent viral marketing it like they did cloverfield but as far as how the actual fucking movie that i will be sitting through ~2 hrs for looks, i'd say it looks pretty cool.
