n00b + Cassette + Vinyl = Chafa Set..give it a listen please
A little Bio about myself before I add the link to my newbie set, I would like to let people know a little about myself. I ran a semi-successful online Dj store through eBay. Good ForTune Records which later became Good ForChoon Records...I had a gimmick where everyone who bought a record received a fortune from a fortune cookies. Anyhow I had 3 distributors for new vinyl and I also bought used collections and flipped them around for cash..I even bought records from semi-famous Dj's on di.fm how names I can't say. Things were good but all the paper work for Federal taxes and state taxes overwhelmed me. I also had to listen to each used record and some of the new ones to make sure the sound quality was good..next thing I know I found myself being more of a business man and a vinyl collector than an actual bedroom Dj. This always bothered me..anyhow the business went under in mid 2006 with digital becoming so popular..I was throwing some stuff out and found a mixed demo I did on cassette in late 2005. First demo that was worth keeping in my eyes. It took about 6 hours to find these few songs to mix together but it took me about 3 days to get the beat matching right..thus the cassette was recorded over and over and over again which made the sound quality bad and to top that off I was using a cheesy mixer that only had 2 gain knobs..no lows, mid's, or highs...since then I am still spinning vinyl and have gotten little bit better...give me your criticism on the set..I can use it and hopefully I can put out some more quality sets later on
Here is the Chafa set. it's only about 40 minutes long
[[ LINK REMOVED ]]
1. EnMass - So Please
2. WhiteRoom - Someday (EnMass Remix)
3. Coast 2 Coast - Be With Me (Original Mix)& Dito - Iceland (Melting Ice Remix) <-- my own little live mash up
4. EnMass - CQ (Seek You)
5. Hi-Gate - Every Face (Ethereal Experience)
Just some feedback would be helpfull...I know it sux but just like to know if someone actualy took the time to listen to me
I'm grabbing it now.
I know how it feels to put up something and then have no one hear it
Like that mix I have linked in my sig...
on cassette?
no shit... alright i'll give it a shot.
Quick suggestion... make sure your file has a name ([something].mp3) for the next time you upload it.
Was it that horrible...i know the sound quality is really poor.
Not counting the sound quality, I like it
It has a nice old Epic Trance feel to it.
yeah this sound definitely takes me back.
i enjoyed it. the mixes were a bit drawn out. a bit old school, they certainly don't make tracks like these anymore.

Well, I've always been better at Chess than Djing lol
I have a set I'm working on that will be better sound quality due to computer with burn drive ....see if the feedback atleast say's I appoved a bit that will be later in this month
i still don't get exactly how you did this mix with a cassette tho... like you taped it on a cassette and then transfered on your pc? why not just record straight onto pc?
Because during the time I was running my business I had a windows 98 computer...I invested in collecting vinyl with my spare money so I only had my turntables hooked up to a home stereo system which only allowed me to record to tape...recently I finally invested in a really nice computer with a burn drive..so since that was the only set I had recorded to transferred it from tape to PC...my next sets will be down directly to computer and CD. I'm working on one now that should be a lot better but still newbie-ish...that's only because I spend so much more time playing Chess than Djing
