Supposedly by the end of the 1st quarter. (March 31st or earlier). It's a 50.00 dollar upgrade cost if you already own it, but honestly there's so much more in there now it's worth it.

The upgrade is free if you buy Torq after 1.5 is released. So just wait another month or so and you're set!

Posted by stan229 on Mar-04-2008 23:43:

i peronsally got torq just for the fact that i dont haev to burn cds which ia bsolutely hate as i burn one track/release per cd and i ran otu of room in my 320cd binder and its been perfect with my music off my external hdd.. since i playno CDJS i dont need to worry with skipping and dust and blabla

Thats a good video, but he didn't address whether the instant doubles feature would keep the tempo it was initially set at or if it would instantly go to zero. That's the current problem with amputate mode and it seriously limits people who want to mix with torq and only one deck.

Also, I can see soooo many dj's get into trouble when using an external mixer and the preview mode, accidentally clicking the wrong pair of headphones and having the track they're thinking about queuing blasting out on the main speakers.

It is a pretty awesome upgrade though.

On it liek a drunk dude on a fat chick!

Nice upgrade!

EDIT

The tempo anchors and new timestretching are fuckin cool! Can't wait to play with this!

Yeah, I cant wait to try it on some of my live music that drifts all over the place.

That timestretching does sound good doesn't it?

It's actually the same time stretching system used in Ableton Live...I can't wait!

I can't believe people are bitching about the $50 pricetag, get a freggin job.

I've been in the market for a VDJ lately, I might have to pull the trigger on this one. So I get Torq for $200 and i get the $50 update for free?

Posted by stan229 on Mar-06-2008 01:58:

Yes

Yep, just wait 'till it's released of course.

Does anyone know what the pitch resolution is when using Torq with the Xponent? Used a Behringer BCD3000 on Traktor and I got a resolution of 0.2%! Could do with 0.02% really for those monster mixes.

Posted by stan229 on Mar-11-2008 16:41:

.1%/8% i believe

i think the main problem with using a midi controller as a pitch fader for any program is that midi only has 128 different signals, so if you would like to get 0,02% accuracy, your pitch range should then be 1,28% which is not very much.

This is true. It's such a minor problem though...I can't believe that no one has fixed this somehow yet.

What would be ideal is if you had two pitch faders. One with .2% resolution, then a "fine tuning" one that adjusts by .02% or .01%. And they add together.

So you would get it within 1% or so with the normal pitch fader, then use the fine tuning fader to get it perfectly locked.

Of course this would probably require that the program supported this, but that would be like, 5 seconds of programming to add the possibility...

Now that I think about it, you could even probably do this with just one pitch fader - just have it output 2 separate midi messages. It would be slightly more complicated than just using two faders, but I'm sure it would be doable.

This is the problem I found with Traktor, I got fed up of continually adjusting my mixes to keep them in time when using a Midi controller. Hopefully Torq will solve that problem, though I feel like a cheat asking the computer to do it for me.

Does anyone have a final release date yet?

Posted by miamitranceman on Mar-13-2008 16:41:

The official word is end of 1st Q 2008 (March 31st or earlier).

Cross your fingers.

I hope this comes out soon...
