Equipment demos

When watching videos of people demoing equipment (especially mixers), and they're showing off the effects or whatever, why do they always feel the need to use the crappiest music ever? I suppose they use minimal-esque music to make the loops sound better, but it would be of far more use to people if they would use music that people might actally play when Dejaying.

Probably because they don't want to alienate any potential customers by playing something too "cheesy," or "old," or "annoying."

Can you imagine if an official tech demo for a lesser known product used something like Big Sky, or some cheesy electro house track? Half of their potential customer base would dismiss them right away and just go buy the pioneer model.

Techno may be boring, but it doesn't have many other negative connotations. It works well for demonstrating loops and effects like you said, and it also doesn't distract from what the presenter is trying to get across.
