Buying equipment in Tokyo

Hey all,

I'm moving to Tokyo in a few months and am looking to get some equipment out there (CDJ 1000's & prolly a DJM 700). Any idea how much this would cost? I've tried to find a Japanese website but to no avail..

was there briefly in december, saw kaoss pad 3 for AUD330, 1200mk2's for about AUD400, basically less than half what they cost here. Wish I'd thought ahead would have got a zero8 when I was there.

I saw some mixers but they werent really that cheap. akihabara is the electronics district, some massive stores there to check out.

most of the websites are in japanese of course, but try amazon.co.jp for an idea of prices on some gear, it has an option for english on most pages.

Cheers for the website, problem is that the CDJ's are more expensive on amazon.co.jp then in the UK! How can that be possible?!

hello there: well since i went from about 5 months ago, i could tell you they are not that hard to find, if you go to like a main mall or something.. since i got my technics sl-dz1200 over there and brought it back to mexico, it was a bit of a quest but still sure they are more cheap.... every electronic stuff created in japan is wayyyyy cheaper over there...

Re: heres one website it might be helpfulll

olwenskatha,

Cheers for the post. Had a look and the goods are cheaper, you can pick up a 1210 mk 5 for 210 equivalent! Will have to get looking when I get over, thanks again.

Im glad it was helpfull, lol the only problem is going to be getting over the lenguage issue cause believe me almost no one speaks english over there, but japanese people are always very kind at stores, so yeah good luck, feel free to ask and oohh i forgot ask for your tax issue discount cause it is not like in europe that you get your money back on the airport they discount it when you would pay
