having just purchased my applemacbook pro and logic 8, im trying to think of a suitable keyboard for producing mainly trance and vocal trance. Have looked in the tutorial pages and thereare lots of suggestions, but was recommended the new xiosynth by a friend of mine. Anyone got any opinions on this or recommend what would be a better investment to produce good trance? thanks

the interface for the synth (the knobs etc.) is pretty shit house. seeing as this is one of the main reasons for buying hardware in the first place, i would stay away from the xiosynth. instead, i would purchase an x-station. they are a bit more expensive, but the interface is far better.

i played around with a xiosynth in the shops and the menus did nothing but piss me off. in an x-station, you get essentially the same synth, but 95% of the parameters have their own knob... definately worth it imo.
