"Emotional, noisy, trippy, weird, and sexual," is how Ellen Allien describes her new mix for BPitch Control's Boogybytes series. Boogybytes Vol.4 arrives this month.

Frau Allien's mix follows on from efforts from BPC staffers Kiki, Sascha Funke, and Modeselektor, and like those volumes, her mix is firmly planted in the club. Allien mixes up her favourite tracks from Ricardo Villalobos, Melchior Productions and Gaiser as well as newcomers Melon and Lucio Aquilina in between more kooky selections such as a spoken word intro from Berlin spoken poet AGF and the ballad 'Twice' from Swedish indie-pop quartet Little Dragon. The cover of the CD is another head-turning snap by photographer Axl Jansen as part of his "shaky heads" series.

well, little dragon - twice is a good track. otherwise, bleak.

Their compilation covers are hilarious.

after listening to little dragon - twice again, I swear I have heard this on some other mixed cd and not the single of it. maybe I am just imagining it though.

tired of My Cube and Withdrawl, I'll still give it a go however.

Glad she played My Cube at least instead of Magic M.

Can't wait. Every volume of Boogy Bytes has been great. And Ellen is one of my favorite DJs - so I have high expectations of this.

Ellen's sets usually are sexy, groovy, deep... i love her style.

But, this isn't that much.

Sadly... there was an error on the tracklisting, it is indeed Magic M the one she played.

Still a nice disc so far... interesting to say the least, although I was expecting more.

LOL I hate that, how hard is it to tell the difference between an A and B side, can't she read a letter...

Mislabeled mp3 on Limewire?

I enjoy listening to the Kiki and Modselektor boogybytes mixes from time to time plus her Fabric 34 was amazing so i'm looking forward to this

Nope ellen plays records Alot of those german's are still old school especially when they do mix cd's.

the vocals from Don Juan will be in my head for the next few days or so

Martin Buttrich mix of music is improper is sick too
