-- Online Record Stores. Ever Tried Ordering Online???

Posted by sKyBreAK on Dec-06-2000 04:24:

Hmm...
I just ordered some records off www.juno.co.uk
and www.htfr.com
I've ordered them for like a few days and I still have no response from them. Have anyone of you ever tried ordering from those sites? How long did it take them to like reply and such? And would you recemmend better sites?

Thanks loads.

I've never ordered music off of the internet but I have ordered alot of other stuff and I haven't been screwed yet. Did these places have a phone number you can call and find out if your order was processed?

I think Internet Ordering is really secured and you should receive a reply soon .. Juno.co.uk is well known and I don't think they'll bullshit you I don't think they have a "where's your order" option tho .. this kinda sucks .. usually sites offer that .. (like futuretrance.com) .. but anyway I don't think you'll loose money (except if you order a t-shirt from Bob who asks your visa card number on geocities.com/bob/t-shirt.html ) .. Cya man!

I e-mailed Juno asking about Armin's A State of Trance cd.
They said they would have it in 2 weeks.
It eventually appeared on their site 2 months later and I'm still waiting for their reply!
No sale for Juno then.

Juno.co.uk will reply you in a few days after you made the order, confirming what you have ordered and usually takes about 1 - 2 weeks to arrive (depends on where u stay).......

As for htfr.com, they tend not to send any confirmation at all, they will send whatever is available and charge what they sent you. Do not expect any e-mails anytime soon as they are pretty notorious for slow e-mail response...

One of the best onlines are www.dancegrooves.com (fast, cheap and reliable), www.djmr.com, www.memrecords.com
I hope this helps...

So far I've only had good experiences with Juno, their orders are always accurate and I never had to wait more than a week for my order (impressive, considering I live in Canada). So don't know what seems to be the problem, are you sure that they had your stuff in stock, or was it back order ?
Tich, you can't expect them to inform you through e-mail when they get some stuff you requested months ago ...

www.htfr.com are great.

I've ordered several times. You may have to wait a bit longer but they're solid and reliable.

Their back ordering is good too.

Strange as it may sound, Amazon.com has a shitload of trance music! They tell you when it will be delivered and if there is a problem they will e-mail you promptly. I have placed about 20 orders and never had a problem

Good Luck!

Amazon.com, is nice. They have many strange US titles, and many imports, and one of the best parts is they let people who have purchased review the title, rather than just one editor, if that, like cdnow or others. I have purchased several cds from them, and as said above, they are prompt, and often cheaper than buying in town, of course you have to WAIT! and that can be the worst part.
EX- i bought Tony de Vit's GU Live in Tokyo for twelve bucks, I had wait awhile, but that's cause they got it in from the UK, no extra import charge. That's a cd I would have never found in town, and would've had to pay a lot more for if ordered anywhere else.

I've ordered at HTFR once. It took them about 1 week to deliver the records.

I order from Satellite Records (http://www.satelliterecords.com) (since it seemz to be the only good US record store for trance)

usually takes them two weekz to ship everything out...but within those two weeks they do keep you informed on the status of the shipment

Satan (eek!)

Kay...
I know this I asked this in a previous thread but I can't find it anymore...
For those guys in Toronto... Where are the GOOD record shops??? Selling mostly trance/hard house and not hip hop type of stuff...
I remember there was something on Adelaide Street by the University or something.
Umm... Plz help?
Thanks.

Red face Dancegrooves and the Bonzai Site

I order usually at dancegrooves.com in Holland when I want fast delivery. They give you a Tracking Number when you order to check your package. But I think 20 DM is too much, when you only order 1 CD! Also good is the Bonzai Site (lightningrecords.be) they have good Bonzai Tunes in Stock -delivery is about 1-2 Weeks! Cheers and bye from Germany --DJelloun--

SYNthSRI:

Check out 611 Records for a nice trance selection. They are based out of Philly. Unlike Satellite, they list every record the store has ever touched and will attempt to get anything that is out of stock. Hope this helps!

sKyBreAK,
At Adelaide Street is Eastern Bloc, the people that works there are just amazing. De-koze, Paul Walker are those that would be happy enough to help you with your record finding. Add: 224 Adeliade St. West. Nearest Subway : Osgoode
There is another one at Yonge check http://www.release-records.com

King

whoever mentioned about this juno site, WOW!!! it's got amazing stuff at relatively reasonable prices... i just applied for a credit card today... ahhhh hehe

Posted by biznology on Jan-10-2001 17:44:

Exclamation about that last thing

Hey if you want to order online without *actually* having a credit card, get a VISA backed ATM debit card. Many banks have this on their checking accounts and as long as you have money it works just like a credit card at stores and online retailers, only without interest and all that other debt stuff. I did it, its great, and there aren't charges if the store takes VISA and you don't use your pin when paying (ie then youre paying debit). peace.
