School research project on Lsd : To drop or not to drop
as some of you may know I am in an art school ...
well anywho right now in a workshop at school and we have to create artistic stuff based around Albert Hoffmann ( the guy who discovered lsd ) and well ... lsd.
The idea is to create some psychedelic visuals, drawings, typography etc...all of which we will screen print for thursday evening ( school party ).
I am in a small group of which less than half would be ok in taking some. Our teacher for this week long workshop should be supplying the goods.
So what's your take on this?
Not trying to be the n00b saying should I do it yay or nay?
Be well you get where I'm going.
Oh and concerning the come up and down I am concerned with the time length and the after effects ( extensive exhaustion over the course of a couple days??? ).
And if any of you could recommend it, when would be the best time of day to do it.
We're considering an early morning/mid-day but .... well give me your opinions

That sounds like a badass workshop.
do it dude, its like 8 hours and its not very strenuous
you're a smart guy- it should expand your mind and alter your perceptions just enough to inspire some incredible prints
just accept the trip, but know that's all it is
It was the best of drops, it was the worst of drops
Your teacher is providing the acid?
Decent LSD will last you eight to twelve hours (right around twelve when I did it). You may feel kind of strange for a day or so afterward as your mind readjusts to normal life, but other than that you should be fine as long as you get good stuff and have no pre-existing physical or mental illness.
For time of day, I would say start somewhere around noon. That way the trip will end about when it's time for bed. If you're an introspective type like me, you'll probably be mentally exhausted by the time it ends, so you can just sleep it off.
It's quite an amazing experience, and can be a very positive and fun one if done with the right people and mindset. Good luck and be safe.

I highly recommend doing it, however if you decide not to please accept the acid anyway and mail it to me
If you can get someone sober to drive you around at night in a place with lots of lights, that's really cool.
Also, pretty much any kind of music sounds amazing. And the time dilation makes it seem as if a five minute song lasts for hours.

Do it!!!!!!!!
Some must haves that I reccomend:
A whiteboard and markers.
A change of clothes.
A dart board. When the darts hit the board everything just morphs and warps, amazing to see.
Your painting stuff with shit loads of paper! just draw swirls and watch them form and watch the paints mix and blend new colours.
Pick out shit loads of CDs. I suggest you also download the 1993 Future Sound Of London essential mix and put that on for a while.
A video camera is a great tool aswell.
Go for a walk aswell, (if its quiet around you). Nature becomes the most amazing thing. I watched a cat meowing for about five minutes when I went for a walk.. ahahaha
You will laugh your arse off when nothing seemingly funny is happening.
And you need to remember it's just a trip, float with it.
I fail to see what is meaningful about drug-induced art; It still seems to me that if one cannot have adequate artistic inspirations without drugs that maybe one should pick up pottery instead.
Many artists towards the middle and ends of their careers lost alot of their supposed "talent" due to the permanent damage their habits caused.
There are too many "artists" as it is; If I have to walk past another vendor in union square who sells every picture of a lamp post or park bench I'm going to yack. Real art should be inspirational with a real meaning that the author intended; If you are determining inspiration and meaning that was not the intent of the author, then you are probably just doing arbitrary thinking...
But then again, I'm a close-minded bastard at best.

J, if you go into it with the right attitude (curious, calm, relaxed, goofy) you will enjoy it. With these kinds of drugs I've always felt that the state you go into them hugely determines how you'll feel during.

My love affair with LSD lasted about two years and ended in heartbreak.
Am I glad I did it? Yes.
Did I take it way, way too far? Yes.
LSD is one of those drugs that can certainly provide some of the most insightful, alternate perspective kinds of moments one can have - but it can also get out of hand and leave you with nothing left but an eternity to wait for it to stop.
I'll tell you this, most of what has been said in this thread is true - if you're mentally prepared to do acid, the chances of you enjoying it increase ten fold.
As with any other drug that can drastically alter your perception, only you can know if it's the right time and place - if it is, you'll probably really enjoy yourself. Just be smart enough to know when it isn't.

This is a very cool link. A man on LSD draws the same drawing throughout his trip.
For anyone that has tripped before ... reading this will blow your mind. You can tell exactly where he is at during his trip. It's insane!
