help burning mpg/wmv etc to a dvd

i'm having trouble burning some videos to dvd. this inclues avi files (which are sometimes dvd rips anyway ffs), mpg files and wmv files. i either have to wait 17 hours for a program to convert and build the files and burn it or i have a program that seemingly converts files but doesnt make everything you need apparently. its kinda pissing me off. so if anyone here has a program that does everything you need and doesnt need to be left running overnight (im on a p4 2.4ghz with 1.5 gig of ram) i would be very grateful.

get one of those and your life will never be the same again.... best money i ever spent!
i have the MG-35NDAS, and whacked a 300gb hard drive in it, no need to burn dvds for watching my divx/avi/mpeg videos ever again....

next time put the batman sign up
also, take a look at tmpgenc's dvd software (tmpgenc dvd author?? off the top of my head), that's got good community support.. not sure if it does the encode too, but take a looksy anyways.. they got bunch of other progs for encoding too if it doesn't do it.

Failing that, if you'd like to hold someone's hand, guides here:

There are heaps of great products here http://www.createdvd.net/
I use Apollo DivX to DVD and it takes approximately 90mins to encode and burn giving a perfect quality DVD which has a high audio sync success rate unlike other programs

audio sync rate probably to do with mismatching framerates.. you can use virtual dub to demux video/audio.. then fix framerates, and remux.. then encode. Or another variation of the ordering of that.

ok i tried convertxtodvd and it worked, i must have confused it with another program. except it told me i needed 4.3 gigs free before it would do anything, even though the end result was not going to take that much space, and didn't. i think i need a crack or something for it hehe because i had to actually burn the dvd in nero.

this was pretty quick, only 20 mins or so but the video was only about 35 mins. blazemediapro was going to take overnight to do the same file. if that one has to re-encode or whatever, will the quality be any better? because the video i was trying to burn was a pretty poor wmv file.

ill check out some of these other ones on the weekend, cheers!
