What are you getting yourself into... the dreaded F-word? - by J00F

J00F's newest article, in which he talks about internet forums, and how they may affect new and upcoming artists.

Anytime I'm critical, I try to be constructive about it.

But let's face it: sometimes there are shit tracks that deserve no mercy.

Posted by Jono404 on Mar-11-2008 16:17:

You reckon J00F read the DJ Mars thing on here?

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Mar-11-2008 16:29:

lol. i just plugged how much i love tranceaddict on his comments.

i love the fuking F word!

Posted by body125z on Mar-11-2008 16:34:

waste of 3 minutes
we already know what he wrote on his blog...
Idiots are everywhere

Posted by Trazedict on Mar-11-2008 16:35:

lol his music sucks

Posted by Swamper on Mar-11-2008 17:16:

Actually, his music rocks -- production wise and set wise. At least his sets aren't cookie-cutter formulaic trash.

I've read comments like the ones mentioned in the blog for years -- fact is, some people are dicks and it's hard to shut them up... if you do, ppl scream censorship.

Most of these (extreme) haters just have pent-up aggression for other reasons - must be jaded raver/nerd syndrome or something.

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Mar-11-2008 17:34:

It's so one sided though.

Look I have my own personal taste and I'm interested in other peoples point-of-views.

Bashing without reason is ridiculous. I admit. But there are more to forums than bashing on noob producers.

It's brought a shit load of die hard fans together. We might make 10% of the club but TA's def are the most educated party goers.

Well, I was just playing around with what his blog was about. :P I don't think his music sucks, but I can't stand by that statement too much because I haven't listened to much of him, or trance in general, for a couple years now. (No new stuff, that is.)

I would feel stupid if he isn't producing trance anymore... just as an aside.

you just don't get it do you?
again, it was a JOKE.
JOOF was talking about how forums aren't a good place for newbie producers to go because of all the bashing that goes on. Well, I just "bashed" JOOF in a thread about him talking about music bashing!

I should have just ignored this thread.

Posted by julien2 on Mar-11-2008 18:17:

/random useless generic bashing post

Posted by elFreak on Mar-12-2008 00:02:

You know there are like 4 of you who've sold (or had pirated, whichever ) boatloads of tracks and had them hammered by the unholy trinity that actually survived here more than a few hours, right?

Looks like mad forum skills to me, yo.

iut's a good job he isn't paid based on 'being on the money' though, else he'd be begging on a street corner for some souvlaki.

The first thing to is erase from your mind is that you'll be able to please everyone with your music, it's impossible.

I'm sure there are lots of new producers who could learn from this.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Mar-13-2008 17:56:

some new producers needs directions others dont, those that dont wont even ask for comments, theyre only promoting themself.

Posted by Ste on Mar-14-2008 19:44:

You get both extremes though, i remember trance.nu track reviews would basically be an open wide and take the cock of whoever wrote the tune just to get more free promos to review.

The problem is you can't distinguish between somebody thinking it's crap because it is, and somebody thinking it's crap because it's not their fave genre of hard progressive siberian dub step tech house 'n' bass.
