Yeah, we'll use this thread for the playoffs

Let's go Rangers!

Calgay??? are you out of your mind???

/trash talk begins

It was interesting seeing the Rangers pull their goalie in a tie game, and they also had a power play for a 6 on 4 for the last 28 seconds, but to no avail.

Flyers won against Penguins to jump from 8th to 6th, so the field for the East is now set

Canadiens vs. Bruins
Penguins vs. Senators
Capitals vs. Flyers
Devils vs. Rangers

Posted by DJ Eco on Apr-06-2008 21:50:

Go Devils... With a week off, and home advantage at a packed house of Red, we're going to get Round 1 in 6 games, watch.

Posted by partyhopper on Apr-06-2008 22:14:

In the West, both the Stars and Avs won today, to jump over the Flames, so it will be

Red Wings vs. Predators
Sharks vs. Flames
Wild vs. Avs
Ducks vs. Stars

LOL @ Montreal-Boston matchup. They're just destined to meet each other

Posted by malek on Apr-07-2008 03:00:

Its crazy, i didn't want them to play the Ruins in the first round... there's too much history between both.

A few years ago, the Ruins were first and were last and met in the first series, we won over them... hopefully they won't do this to us

Play-Off Schedule

Posted by malek on Apr-07-2008 13:51:

lots of ruckus downtown this past saturday, tons of people honking and cheering in the streets

Can't wait till it starts!!!

Posted by Rockabye on Apr-07-2008 21:13:

but Malek I have to warn you, don't put too many hopes into the Habs... I carry some kind of curse with me.

just look what my teams did in the last 1 1/2 years:

Dallas Cowboys
- Play-Off-Game @ Seattle nearly won but than Romo & the snap happened
- 1st seed in the NFC and lost their first play-off game against the Giants

New York Mets
- lost game 7 of the NLCS
- biggest september collapse in decades, blow 7 1/2 game lead over Philly

Dallas Mavericks
- lost in the NBA finals after 2:0 and leading in game 3
- won 67 games in the regular season and than loose as #1 seed in the play-offs against #8 seed

so you see, little Rockabye combined with a team that's #1 seed doesn't work pretty good.

Looks like it should be good.

What the fuck is with Montreal and Boston playing games 2 and 3 back to back? Um...travel day? That isn't fair to either team. The NHL scheduling in the regular season and playoffs is mind boggling.

Since there is no playoff pool thread, my picks are as such.

Montreal over Boston in 5.
Penguins over Sens in 6.
Capitals over Flyers in 6.
Rangers over Devils in 7.

Detroit over Predators in 5
Sharks over Flames in 5
Avalanche over Wild in 6
Ducks over Stars in 7

Posted by Rockabye on Apr-09-2008 14:30:

Montreal over Boston in 4
Pittsburgh over Ottawa in 5
Washington over Philadelphia in 7
New York over New Jersey in 7

Detroit over Nashville in 5
San Jose over Calgary in 6
Minnesota over Colorado in 7
Dallas over Anaheim in 6

Posted by jpisani on Apr-09-2008 15:01:

The Wings are gonna take it.

Posted by sweds00 on Apr-09-2008 18:12:

The Flames get no respect. I wouldnt be suprised if they won in 6. SJ got hot too early (b4 the end of the season) and I dont think that they have anything left. I guess we will find out tonite!!!!!!!!!

Posted by verndogs on Apr-12-2008 01:57:

Rangers up 2-0 on the Devils

Thank you Colin White, Sean Avery and especially Henrik Lundqvist

Posted by Sinatra on Apr-12-2008 06:23:

Lets go Avalanche.. tough giveaway tonight in St. Paul but they should bounce back in Denver come Sunday.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Apr-13-2008 02:11:

What a goal by Kovalev! Boston just can't beat Montreal, no matter how well they play or how bad Montreal play.

Anybody who has the HNIC feed happen to hear Don Cherry's whining after the game? What a fucking old wind bag he can be sometimes. It was clearly a trip and since FUCKING WHEN did they call high sticks on a follow through from a shot or pass? Give me a break Grapes...your Boston bias is clearly showing and MaClean schooled your senile ass once again!

Posted by malek on Apr-13-2008 06:57:

Don Cherry is a fucking looser, you should change the channel between periods.... what a fucking idiot this Don.

Posted by andrewyates on Apr-14-2008 03:08:

Yeah all right, lets go Ducks!! Oh...wait...oh God, um...can we start over or maybe find a different team to play or anything? Dammit.

Posted by L.E.N. on Apr-19-2008 02:41:

Ducks are screwed.....the stars have been a pain in their ass all year and will end up stickin the fork in them.

Posted by verndogs on Apr-19-2008 03:35:

Me at the Rangers viewing party with Rangers great Adam Graves

So much fun watching the Blueshirts eliminate those Devils

Posted by partyhopper on Apr-20-2008 01:37:

Crazy Game 6 between the Habs and Bruins
Both teams kept on striking back right after the other team scored to take the lead.
To Game 7 they go
