Luke Abbott - Tuesday EP [Border Community]

Can't find samples anywhere, but the EP is up at Beatport.
Not much to play with in a set, but a nice listening piece for sure. I enjoy "We Are Made Of Glass" and "On Tuesday" the most.

"On Tuesday" is awesome.

Anyways, I like Gates Part 1.

I posted the thread first, the other is repost. Nice release, but as someone mentioned, it has a typical BC sound to it.

Ah yes, indeed.
I like Border Community. The first thing I heard from them was Nathan Fake's Drowning in a Sea of Love, so perhaps I am biased because that CD was absolutely amazing. But overall I would say the CD is slightly above 'meh'. I could see myself bedroom DJ'ing Gates Part 1.

Stop. Commenting. On. Music. You. Have. No. PRECEDENT. FOR.
Go comment on the latest Dirty South remix of some track that was big 5 years ago. Nobody gives a fuck about your opinion on music you don't know anything about, and refuse to know anything about.

Not music for you. Not. For. You. You like cookie cutter preset filled fodder, and this is NOT THAT, so just move a long.
Also, I'll end by saying that "unorthodox" music is some of the best in the world.

I like the artwork.

I like Without Aim because it reminds me of when I first took acid and went walking round the streets. So happy plodding along, yet inside deeper down I felt like a cartoon character was trying to escape.
"Is it day time" I said to my friend. 12:03am.

Hahah A+
Time is very mysterious when on such substances.

I can definitely understand someone not liking this album. I've found many Border Community releases to be experimental, often containing a scratchy sound, and leaving you with no clue as to what the next track is going to sound like. I like BC releases, and I did enjoy this one. But I think it definitely makes it hit or miss (although a miss for me so far with their releases is usually still a listenable tune).
As Clovis was implying, it's a little bit of randomness, and falls outside of what you may have 'expected' the sound to be like. But if sound was never 'unorthodox', then we'd be listening to the same shit over and over.

sorry had to fix it. But it's like James says, "music that you don't have to remove half of your brain before you listen". If you're just too fuckin' close minded than I quote:

hehe, no you weren't right... every Border Community release I have listened to (which I think I have at least sampled them all on beatport/I have in my collection) has been experimental. I just didn't want to close myself off in case a rebuttal came along.

My least favourite BC release thus far.
Posted by wotyzoid on Mar-22-2008 18:11:
Yeh, the release itself I think is kind of weak but I'm in love with "On Tuesday".

I don't mean to sound ignorant (I just started posting on TA again and I usually just check out the CD Review section so I don't know much about users on here) but are you releasing it for free or do you actually sell your tunes?

Ah cool. Out of curiosity who would you send it out to? Best of luck regardless of who gets it, and keep me posted as to when I can hear your final version.
