any1 worked out how to get thru the "territory restricted' shit on beatport?

private msg me or post here ...cos its a fuken joke....

just another case of the man keepin us down...

....its always the madt big hit tunes they fuck ya up on

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Mar-14-2008 23:45:

my advice would be to make friends with someone overseas.

Posted by Gen3r4l1ty on Mar-14-2008 23:53:

I guess it depends on how they detect your region. It it's by IP, I guess you could try a proxy... but it's more likely they just use the address tied to your credit card; in which case yea, make a buddy overseas.

Posted by James Brooke on Mar-15-2008 00:11:

jules they are not trying to fuck you over with it, the man is not always out to get you....

the reason behind it is simple, the label that put the track up doesn't have rights to sell it in australia, therefore you wont be able to buy it using any australian ISP.

the only way around it is to either steal the music by illegally downloading, or to wait for a label in australia to license the content so that you can buy it!

when you get this error dude, shoot me an email with the details of the track and what label it is on and i will see what i can do about licensing it for our territory!

I like you Jules!!!

I seem to have the same problem trying to get wav.files for 00.db's Heaven&Hell from trackitdown. When I get to the check out a message appears that the selection of tracks is not licensed to my territory.
Mind you, my money was good enough to download the 320 files but when it comes to wav. it is no go!

James Brooke aka Gandalf - what are my chances for you to do some serious magic and get the MOS Psy-Trance Euphoria in wav. licensed to the apparent ass of the world?

Yeah pkc, I've got the mix comp CD pack and also the 320 in either mix and individual tracks. The issue remaining is that I now like some of the tracks as individual wav. files so I can use these
for mixing...

Sounds easy enough - could you elaborate a little more please? For instance, where do I get the software you mention from...

Yes, all hail the "global culture", the Americanisation of the world

(I'm still holding out, see I spell it "globalise")

Why ANYONE would pay for an mp3 is beyond me. You get low qudio quality for a start and no physical product (I think artwork / sleevenotes are great, and add to the quality of the release).

Download, download my friends! And if you like someone's work, go to their gigs, buy a tshirt from them or something, donate them a couple of dollars.... just never ever, buy a mp3.

...does the same account for wav. files?

???

The music is the product, no?

How ignorant are you gumble?

Posted by gumble on Mar-16-2008 02:57:

Yes, but its not at a quality that I'm happy to pay for.

I'm obviously very ignorant......

Posted by Dean Millson on Mar-16-2008 03:01:

Ah ok, so you always buy CD's then yeah?

Posted by James Brooke on Mar-16-2008 03:07:

im sorry jules i forgot you were god of everything, so yes you know best....

I download everything first and then if I really like the album, I buy it on cd or vinyl... I also try and see the bands and artists I like, live.

I don't know why there is a need to arc up when I present a perfectly valid point: you are buying a sub-optimal format.

I love [properly encoded] mp3s, they are extremely versatile. If it wasn't for downloads, I'd never of found a heap of my now favourite artists. I'm sure that they are happy that I now support them, even though I've not paid for their work initially.

How about you guys logically process my points before acting all supreme.

Hey Mate, The Matt Darey restriction was actually Beatport's fault! There was only a restriction for USA & Canada set on the release because its licensed to another label there, but some how their systems set a restriction on almost all territories. Its fixed now though.

Posted by Slade on Mar-24-2008 09:51:

I've found that if a tune is not available to download off Beatport, it's available off junodownload.com
