some promoters want us to pay $50 to see a stupid DJ mix with laptops and CDs??? $100 for VIP???

Riiiggghhhttt. I hope they go under and the scene goes back to its underground roots.

drinks are $8 minimum+tip. add the parking $10-$20. gas is gonna be $4/gallon soon. tip for the guy at the restroom. bad djs, bad crowd, bad security at vanguard and at some events. not worthed.

get a hot chick. park your car next to beach. get some drinks. put your ipod into shuffle. priceless. am i romantic or what

... and you can dance on the sand or on top of your car if you want!

Despite the Clovis hate...I still think Clovis-Bas mixes (and some of the other mixes I've heard here) are just as good if not better than the majority of the "Superstar" Dj mixes I've listened to live.

These days I just cannot justify freakin' $50 dollar regular ticket to see some so-called "superstar" Dj when the mixes of less well known Djs in Socal are better.

At least people like BAs/Clovis MIX...

id pay $100 VIP w/ open bar for CL, JOOF, Astrix if it was at Circus after they installed a funxion 1 and they let me open and fed me tacos.

lol. I mean, it's not like overcharging is anything new. And its not like theres a shortage of people who just don't know any better and are willing to pay exhorbitant prices to see mediocre DJs. Just go see better ones.

(haha) How about - $20 to stand in "line" waiting for four hours to get in or having to give the guy a $100 at the door (on a good night IF you got chicks w/you) and then how about $2,000 for VIP and that is LIMITED bottle service.

IMHO - $100 for VIP at vangaurd with OPEN BAR all night is well worth it, considering water alone is like 8 bucks down stairs...

I (I am sure I am not alone on this) have spent much more than $100 just hanging out at a bas WITHOUT any dj's... If price is the issue then stay underground where it is $10 for all you can drink water that was refilled out of a bathroom tap. hahaha

I'm doin a show with Ferry Corsten here in Seattle on April 10th @ the #1 club in the Northwest and its $10.00 presale *shrugs*

To be honest, I feel the scene has everything to do with price. Here in Seattle, we don't pay nearly as much for the headliner DJ's as you guys in LA, NYC, Vegas, Miami, (aka big markets) do. Granted its still a lot, but still not as much.

True LSC is the only club worth going to in seattle for EDC but its a small venue and has a crappy sound system. Well I go to Circus Disco in Hollywood. Its free with the guestlist b4 1030pm and $15 b4 midnight. I have seen the DJ's for free OR $10 OR LESS
