stanton or gemini TT
I am have narrowed my choice of TTs down to stanton str 100 or gemini pt 2100 or 2400.... I was wondering which is better... I am leaning towards either the 2100 or 2400 because they are cheaper... but I don't want to buy decks that I have to replace in a year so if the stantons are better I will get them... and what is the difference between the 2100 and 2400? thanks to everyone who response in advance the advice is much appreciated
Are you kidding?
Of course Stanton!
I would go for the Pt2100
simply because they are laid out EXACTLY as technics, and only a little less torque, i wouldnt go for 2400 cos of all the fancy shit on their, i like the traditional look.
And as you said these are great value for money. I have mixed an alot of decks including technics and these would probably be my second choice to technics.
Pt2100's
I would have to say Stanton. The STR100s look very tasty
It depends. If I were you, I would try to get hold of the Stanton st-100 rather than the str8-100. The st-100 has the S-shaped tonearm rather than the str8-100's straight tonearm, which is better for tance/house mixing applications than the straight version. The Stanton seems to be very well put together and quite rigid, and has a lot of torque from what I've seen. Although the PT-2100 is also a very good deck.
go for the 100's.
Score's 3-1.
Stanton !
dude go for Gemmini's, I've used both str-80 and str8-100 and they sucked, although str8-100 was better in some ways , it's motor is toaly F*CKED! It's controled by some chip or some shit, but alot of times when you push the platter, it spins really fast for less then a second AFTER you take your hands off of it. That wouldn't be a problem if you will beatmatch using a pitch slider, but it might f*ck you up when you let the track that you are CUEing go. I'd deff get gemini's cuz they are layed out just like techs, and everything is fine with their motor.
Also all of those features that stantons have are total BS! you don't need more than 8% of pitch to mix trance.
That master tempo thing is totally messed up, it sounds like you are in the middle of a mix, and you trainwrecked if you turn it on.
