Disco House

I'm not even sure if this is a genre but I think it describes the kind of house I want. Can anyone point me in the direction of new disco house? or just house that makes you feel good with a funky bassline, thanks

It might also be called 'funky house' or 'club house', I think.

This my friend is typical, classic tech-house (20/20 vision is a legendary british tech-house label) before the term was distorted by bloody beatport after assigning it to every single "house-with-bleeps" track they have. What the threadstarter means is the exact opposite of that sound, the "disco/funky/mainstream/soul+filter house" sound like-for example-

phats and small- "turn around" (god this was played to death in greek clubs!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSY-2fjW7Wo

wamdue project- "king of my castle" (i remeber this being a classic anthem in greek clubs back in '99. I used to hate it, but after hearing it after so many years-it brough some lovely memories flooding back!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXSyQjppqG0

junior jack - "my feeling" (this was played 10 times a night in every single greek club)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWudSNn13v0

Dj Flex- "Good Feeling" (need to say more?!? I just hate you threadstarter!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YbL...feature=related

ok heres one i actually REALLY liked

DJ Falcon and Thomas Bangalter(from Daft Punk)- "So Much Love To Give" (ok this was not played THAT much in greek clubs, and even when it was played i used to dance to it like crazy!anthem!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOjx...feature=related

Daft Punk- "One More Time" (ok, this was played every second time in every greek club)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFaN...feature=related

(actually, Daft Punk had some amazing tracks. Track their albums!)

Oh, and threadstarter i both hate and love you-the first one for reminding me the personal nightmare that this kind of house-music was for me, been the number-1 music choice for every greek club for so many years, and the second-because in these cheesy funky/disco riffs, the groovy basslines and the catchy beats, lies the memories of my youth! lol

Edit: i don't have a clue about new-disco/funky house! These tracks i mentioned are all classic hits though

Thanks for the correction, although if he was looking for real techy space disco 11 minute tracks, like i posted above.. that is a completely different ballgame then freemasons - love on my mind (for example)..

he could have said anything, but without a sample or affirmation we are left guessing if he likes hands in the air pop house that sounds like disco..

i will admit, I am a sucker for exactly what you posted above aswell.

A few more i found ha:

Armand Van Helden - "You Don't Know Me"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNSpLqmY6K0

Earth, Wind and Fire- "September '99" (phats and small remix)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrSYq7mMQuk

Stardust- "The Music Sounds Better With You"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrjOhQZWU7k

Deep Swing- "In The Music"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwWxzEGy68s

All Classic Disco/Funky House Anthems! I have the impression though, that-like epic trance-this sound was big towards the end of the 90s-beginning of 00s and that it is not THAT famous anymore.

Yeah, Freemasons is (at least in most of the times) a typical funky/disco house example, although they are Daft Punk cut-copies. I have to tell you that i hate this sound though!
