-- The Qatsi Trilogy
The Qatsi Trilogy
I've just found out about Phillip Glass and, after falling in love with his music, I decided to watch the (not so) famous trilogy Qatsi. Who's seen it? Did you like it?
Also, if you like this kind of artsy film, could you help me find a completely unrelated film? I didn't see the beginning, HBO aired it many years ago and I just caught the last half of it. I remember there were some guys crossing the desert in a jeep, and they end up knocking down a blue guy (who eventually died). A tribe of blue guys then appears and asks for one of the travellers to stay, and end up killing him. Later, a black guy and a redhead start having violent sex in what seems to be an analogy of Adam and Eve.

Oh, and Koyaanisqatsi is cool.

I adore Philip Glass, and those films. My college room mate and I used to watch Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqatsi while drunk at 3 in the morning on our 94" projector. A spiritual experience. I can't tell you how many times I drifted off into dream while watching those films.
I bought Baraka as well, and while the images are just as amazing, the score is nowhere near as compelling.

i'm a huge fan of the qatsis
i have shown at least koyaanisqatsi to nearly everyone i know
philip glass has been a big influence on me
besides koyanissqatsi, the truman show soundtrack, i really like his second symphony and 'itaipu: the canyon'. 'truman sleeps' from the truman show soundtrack is maybe one of my absolute favorites though,
i had a college roommate who was extremely into glass and he played me pretty much his entire discography.
