On your resume
Do you list your personality traits? hobbies etc?
I can't figure out what the point of doing that is. It drives me crazy. I can't imagine an employer thinking "well this guy is qualified, but he likes to play video games. must be a slacker". Or the other way "Well, he doesn't have any experience flying a plane, but he goes to church, so god will guide him.
and it's not like any of you put your real hobbies down when you do choose to tell them *more* about yourself, because most of us like to get drunk and watch porn.
Not at all
if it's job-related, it's a skill--not a hobby.
if it's not, they won't care.

Well some employers ask what your interest and hobbies are during the process of your interview, and the less they have to ask after they see your resume- the better. So it depends on who you're sending it out to.
depend what kinds of education you have and what jobs u had..if u just have a high school diploma, i guess u could add you like to play pokemons or magic cards..haha..

I have an 'Interests' line on my resume, but it can change depending on who's going to read it.
In that section, right after 'design and fabrication', I have 'vintage automobile restoration'. You know, fancy way of saying I restore old cars. I almost took it out but then I realized that it's an interest that carries with it certain skills. Turns out a potential employer/client (strange I know, but that's sorta the deal) is involved with vintage racing. That spurned more conversation about abilities and, as a result, I'll be meeting with the HNIC again very soon.
My recommendation is to include interests that signify skills you may have or gain as a result, THEN add other things on the 'light-side' along the line's of what jer said.
i dont write a "hobbies" section, I just include an "interests" so its vague enough to cover just about anything. Any relevant things, such as photography and some charity events that I've done, i try to include. Also if you've written anything or had anything published. Something that says you're slightly more than a suit and tie
my resume consists entirely of
"fake ghost pirate"

depending on the job.
its good to list hobbies such as sports to show u are active and healthy. also tells them that your body is fully functional and you are not disable.
for management type jobs team sports are good to show u can work in a team setting.
small things like that.
it does depend on the type of job and who's hiring obviously.
but generally, no. dont mention your personality traits, at least not in a list-like fashion. yes, mention interests that are relevant to the particular position. no, dont include your myspace page.
i recently decided not to give a person an interview because they used the "word" '************' in their job application. my dad once decided not to give an interviewee the job after he ordered his coffee with 7-8 sugars.
in other words its really easy to piss off your audience when they have to see 50 other people/applications.
