Cocoon Club, anyone been?

Here is a video of Sven Vath explaining the different areas of the Cocoon Club.

Looks amazing.

I don't know, but I;m in Tokyo for the 18th. PIG AND DAN!!!!

edit: anyone know the tune playing in the background before sven starts talking?

Posted by jchung52 on Mar-28-2008 22:46:

nice. ive always envisioned future clubs to look like that. of course something like that takes huge financial backing and support. it would take a mega city to support a club of that nature. i dont even think new york, chicago, LA, or maimi could.

Hahahah me either! I thought he was talking about a tree concept though!

Also, imagine eating at a restaurant IN the club. Do you think they'd be open during club hours?

Nah. Maybe a more casual and relaxed eatting setting from say 5 - 9 and then things switch gears and the party starts at 10. Sizzle in Hamilton is like that with the upstairs and downstairs.

haha thats the best piece of tape ever.. when he talks about the wall projections.. how its psychedelic looking and all..

is Womb the most popular one in Tokyo/Japan? wonder what the cover charge is at a place like that

I am already upset I didn't plan a few days in Frankfurt and go to Cocoon, but it came down to a choice between Berghain and Cocoon. I also just noticed that he is playing a Timewarp warm up the night I Fly into Frankfurt at Cocoon...wish I didn't book my hotel in Mannheim already.

A friend also told me I have to go to one of the bed restaurants in Berlin...don't know how I feel about it...its just weird.

He told me that the one he was at the waiter or waitress will stratle you and feed you your first bite of your meal to make sure it is to your liking.

Gotta love the Germans.

Sven needs to come to Toronto

I think I'd have done the same.. if rejected in the Berghain lineup then go straight to the trainstation to frankfurt :x

LOL yeah the only reason I figured it out is because it's pronounced the same way in French

Womb is awesome. The cover charge is quite reasonable - I think I paid about $25 cdn at the door a few years ago for Jeff Mills & Francois K

Not sure if it's THE most popular in Tokyo, but it's definetly up there.

The original club Sven opened is in Frankfurt. They do "Cocoon" nights at clubs around the world (like Amnesia in Ibiza).

the video is produced by a Japanese club in Tokyo called Womb. Cocoon DJs are taking over the club for a month so they did this interview with Sven on their podcast. that's where i saw it first.
