internships

i'm studying international relationships. They give you the option of learning any languages as internships in foreign countries. between the hundreds of them i had to choose two, english and dutch.

i had the first one in Kennesaw, Georgia 2 years ago for one year long. Learned English.

Today i received the confirmation email of my second internship in Den Haag, The Netherlands. split in four parts of 10 weeks each for the next 2 years

i leave april 12th

The difference being that at least in The Hague you're a brief train ride form Rotterdam and Amsterdam - making it a far, far better option than Kennesaw

while the delivery was ridiculous, he/she/it is correct that Chinese will become nearly as important as English in the next 50 years. Dutch is a rather useless language to learn, especially considering almost everyone in NL speaks English fluently (some even better than many americans).

dutch sounds exactly like english if you dont listen to it... but once you concentrate to it and listen you are like WTF!! its german!!.. honestly if its in the backgorund its so english..

lol @ chinese. i agree China is growing and probably will own us all in 50-70 years but while that happens i'll be working at the mexican embassy in the netherlands, that's why english and dutch i picked
