^^^^ uploading this track from the boat. I will post when it is done.

I respectfully disagree

This was the most boring set I have EVER heard from Digweed. After two hours of fluffy progressive, I left. I hope that Transitions 4 is better.

I fell asleep on one of those beds. Was great to meet you Mike and Rui!

It is great to see John playing progressive so consistently again. Mansion, the boat, and Vagabond. Awesome stuff.

For fans of progressive, yeah I really liked the more techy-minimal sound that he's been playing for a while.

HEY I didn't know you were coming to conference!! I would have at least liked to say hello at the party!

I actually went to Vagabond last minute after meeting the owner of Vagabond who was on the boat with me Fri nite, he invited me to check it out last minute. I would've met up with you

any reviews of hernan's set?

Posted by SLR722 on Mar-31-2008 19:18:

What an amazing night! Hernan has a nice opening set, but tonight was all Digweed.

Definately one of the most amazing sets I've ever heard in my life. Nothing but BOMBS, all night, one after another! God, I don't even know how to describe it, it was just mind-blowing.

Unfortunately, Hernan held back on the progressive. I truly think he was showing respect to Digweed, opening for him, and not going all out. I thought his set in Vegas last year was much better, (not that his set at Vagabond wasn't good, it just didn't have much progressive) and we all know he has the tracks to lay down if he wants to. IMO, he didn't want to 1-UP Digweed on John's own night. He did a VERY good job of building up propper for Digweed with that minimal/electro-ey stuff (I'm not too good with the genres), with Digweed starting off his set with the same sort. Then after the first hour he just layed down progressive bliss, and I spent the rest of the night listening to one track after another in total disbelief.

I find it hard to believe there was a better party, musically at least, at WMC this year.

personally i dont find the sense in a world class dj like hernan not going all out during conference, even if he was opening. and i dont see a fellow professional like digweed getting too worked up if he decided to bang it out. i guess in the end it was a nice gesture, but come on its conference, its time to destroy floors, and thats what people are paying for.

Posted by DiegoParra32 on Mar-31-2008 22:51:

the music that night was pretty amazing. granted some of the more deeper, stripped down prog isn't for everyone but i really appreciate what hernan was playing. I left early b/c I had the privilege of seeing Digweed play at Mansion and also his suprise 45 minute set at AM Only event but when I left he was playing some really druggy fuck your mind shit. by the way, anyone agree that the sound system in that club blows ass? the levels were way too low and literally no bass.

You listened to the wrong two hours then I got there a bit late and it was definitely the show of the conference, especially the last hour. Anyone know which heaven scent remix that was? Unbelievable.

Also, vagabond is now my favorite club in miami - $5 red bull, awesome patio, automatic reentry without getting any shit from the bouncer, etc. win!

Wow.. This and Prydz on Terrace were my favorite conference shows from this year.. Got there at about 1:30 and Digweed was already on the decks.. The first hour or more there was some crazy deep prog but by the last half of the night Diggers was destroying the place with techy madness..

Agree every bit.. Amazing Night, reminds me of HPC in Tampa with the lounge up front and kick ass patio area.. Drinks are CHEAP compared to the rest of Miami...

Sound in Main room is definitely not Space, but it definitely worked the crowd.. Bass sounded great as well... I was pissed I forgot my earplugs.. ahhhhh

Oh and...

"You can't always get what you want.. but if you try sometimes you just might find.. You get what you neeeeed!!"

That track really made my night. Anyone know which mix that was, or if digweed was just sampling it in or what?

I think it was the Soulwax remix.

The staff at the club were VERY cool. Everyone from the guy at the door, to the security, and all the bartenders. Never took me more than 10 seconds to get a drink or a water at that bar + great personalities too.

Not sure if this is an April Fool's or what, but Diggers posted this over at Bedrock:

Just wanted to thank everybody who came down for making it an amazing night. Hernan did a great job setting things up, and I loved playing in that room the whole club had great vibe all round.

As for the set I am going to make it available as a free download.
Just working out how to do it and will post the link later on today.

Many thanks

John

It is the soulwax remix. I have it if you want to aim me

Only complaint I had with the club was the bathrooms. This is the first time I have ever seen the men's line longer than the woman's. Maybe everyone was doing too much molly in the stalls or something, idn. Speaking of which... I think i ate like 6 5-htp's yesterday... they really work..

I don't have AIM, but I'll d/l it if you want to give me your S/N. In the meantime I'll PM you.

Btw, yeah the bathroom situation was outrageous! The men's bathroom location/capacity forces the line to cut right through the lounge, LOL.

My cuz, being the crafty mofo he is, found the employee bathroom in the back of the club room and had the manager open it up. Made things a LOT nicer for the 10-15 or so people that knew about it. ;p

_____________

OMG, thx to the person who found the post by Digweed, if he comes through and posts that set...WOW!

EDIT: I'm kind of confused reading the thread on that Bedrock link. Sounds like Digweed says he's going to post the set from Vagabond, but some posts down people start talking about

"If its anywhere near as good as your Bedrock set then this will be essential!"
and
"Awesome!! Cant wait to hear this set. Diggers set @ bedrock was wicked, hope its just like that!"

Maybe these guys are talking about the yacht party set? I dunno...

Posted by auteuriste on Apr-01-2008 23:14:

The people on the Bedrock board (mainly Engligh folk that frequent that place) were talking about Diggers set at Bedrock (Heaven) in London on Easter weekend (and not about the yacht)!
