Crossfader Curve

What is the curve on most crossfaders? On mine, from left to right, it brings on both channels at full volume in the middle and then start lowering the volume on the left when I move it to the right of center. I use mostly the volume faders, because it makes for a smoother mix. For example, if Channel A is playing, and I am bring in Channel B, but I don't want both to be at full volume before Channel B comes in...It just doesn't work with the crossfader.

Are there any mixers out there that lets you set the way the crossfades?

your mixer has to have a crossfader curve in order for you to set

normally on vestax mixers, it's found where the 2nd headphone output is and on the stanton's it's on the front faceplate. There's signs of different waveforms on it too such as a gradual or a sharp curve.

if i were you, i'd start the incoming track volume at 0 then slowly move it up.. while fixing the EQ's on the outgoing track. Then do things all simultaneously and you should achieve your goals

i have an allen & heath xone: 32 and it has a crossfader curve knob with 3 settings so i can not only choose the 3 typical curves but anywhere inbetween them

it also has a crossfader reverse button and a button to turn the crossfader right off
