Best Movie Soundtrack Album

Which movie album you think was the best.. a movie the music in which make it like you more than the movie itself... or atleast the music in movie formed a great deal in you liking the movie.

For me its 'Savior'.

It has this Macedonian theme songs and ethnic instruments and sounds.. very emo, very melodic.. flutes.. drums.. It made me appreciate music from Eastern Europe and Baltic nations more than ever.

Feel good hit of the year.

The latest for me was the soundtrack for There Will Be Blood. It was composed by Jonny Greenwood, one of the guys in Radiohead. Some great unsettling and haunting work with strings in that movie.

Vastly under-rated score in my opinion.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of James Newton Howard - his scores from The Sixth Sense, The Village, and Blood Diamond are superb.

Underworld FTW!

quote:
When the film was mostly complete, director Danny Boyle provided the film to the band Underworld, who improvised a score for the film. Karl Hyde of Underworld was influenced by the music of avant garde composer Gyrgy Ligeti, which had been used in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). Lux Aeterna by Ligeti particularly influenced Hyde. When Underworld finished recording, the band sent its work to composer John Murphy, who completed the score, resulting in a hybrid between Underworld and Murphy. The band I Am Kloot also contributed to the score with the track Avenue of Hope.

Prince of Egypt and davinci code scores by Hans Zimmer are great.

Lately I haven't heard any really great scores but the I am legend score by James Newton Howard is alright.

personally i wouldnt say so, but he did a good job on 28 days later, i love the main tune from that, its fucking ace!

he also had (along with brian eno) a major influence when working with underworld for the sunshine soundtrack, and it definatly shows.

john murphy and danny boyle must be best pals or something lol

also, john murphy did the miami vice soundtrack, its just a shame the film was shit
